I'm sure there's many more easter eggs, but here's a couple I spotted: 1) When Team Sonic jumps from the helicopter, Sonic does a spin just like in the Point Break skydiving scene. 2) When Super Sonic is trying to hold back the laser cannon beam he says "Can't hold on much longer" which is from the chorus of "Open Your Heart" from SA1. 3) When he becomes Super Shadow, he blocks Sonics punch the same casual way Neo blocks Agent Smith's attack in The Matrix 1.

One subtle easter egg I only noticed once I rewatched SA2's scenes are the writings on the prison cell. In the movie, Gerald designs the Eclipse Cannon, but in the game when Amy gets Sonic out of jail, the whole cell is full of writings, which are also Gerald's.

There’s technically one I noticed, when knuckles throws tails from the eclipse canon down into the atmosphere to save sonic. The way Knuckles picked tails up to throw him is very reminiscent to Knuckles Chaotix which I saw. I play Chaotix way too much to notice that. I never directly said they were in the movie. For anyone who doesn't know the plot it could easily just be References and little Easter Eggs for them or even just click bait. It's better than half the ones I see when I open KZbin and it's just the full on credit scene screen shots But I get what you're saying.

In the scene with Maria's death I think Walters tried to save both Maria and Shadow because he did say "Those are children" talking about both of them and seeing that it looks like he was crying a bit seeing Shadow being sealed way

the way Shadow survives is how i think Eggman also survived. they didn't tank the explosion lol Shadow probably used teleportation to pick up Eggman and dip out of there before the explosion. so yeah I think Eggman will be around again but as a supporting character to Sonic rather than the big bad or co-big bad.

The Super Sonic vs Super Shadow fight is a reference to an episode of Sonic X where Sonic and Shadow both went super and fight each other in amidst of dealing with the enemy of season 3 of that show, the Metarex.

It’s interesting that when you go back to see when they first encountered shadow he was inside a meteorite that looked like a black larva from black dooms forces the black arms. Also, I am wondering if Amy is the leader of the resistance, a.k.a. the freedom fighters which would be crazy if its Rouge the Bat, Bigs the Cat, and Cream the Rabbit and is looking for sonics help to fight against the metal sonic army. But seriously I’m awaiting for Blaze the Cat I wanna see her the most out of everyone else.

Escape from the City is credited in the film, so it’s in there to some extent. Also: a few notes from Live and Learn was played on the guitar by Maria at the start. The stylized credits had the models from Sonic the Fighters. I see we both are thinking that Metal Sonic is probably a contingency Eggy set up in the event he lost his life prior to Sonic being defeated. Other than whose in the mid credit scene, my predictions for who I think we might see starting w/ the most likely: Rouge the Bat -> Omega -> Chaos -> Cream and Cheese (if we get them, we might also see Cream’s mom, Vanilla) -> Team Chaotix -> Emril We might also see Chaos in general. I think it would be cool to see Shadow run into Team Sonic again and he has a doppelgänger Chao

I love how Eggman turned good. Because live action can be different than a video game. We needed to appreciate eggman, so making him temporary a hero will make his character more likeable even as a villan in the next film.

My personal expectations with Shadow is that we wont see him in Sonic 4, not as a primary character, but instead he will get the Knuckles Series treatment, where he gets his own little series to sort of reinvent himself, maybe introduce Rouge and some of the expanded Sonic roster that might not be ideal for a film debut. Who knows, a Shadow series might lead into a full Shadow film based around the Shadow 05 game centered around his more alien origins and the Black Doom invasion. His apparent death yet certain survival definitely leaves the door open for Shadow to go on a similar soul searching journey that he was going on during the Shadow 05 game.

So one detail many missed is when breaking free he defeats the gun guards the same way as in the Shadow the Hedgehog game. You can see the bit i'm talking about in the intro for the game :) Also, the credit songs have Escape from the City but i did not hear it as well! Maybe its hidden as background noise somewhere? :(
