I still grind the absolute shit out of this game on the PS3. Looking at some of its reviews, I can totally understand why someone would hate this as a mainline game. But no matter how bad it is, this was my first Sonic game, and it was the absolute greatest introduction to Sonic I ever had! And I will always hold this game very close to my heart!

it does make sense, eggman could have gone back to his lab and touched up the old machines thats why they have extra mechanics for the last few hits.. the players that hate this game probly just hold the analof stick right and press jump now n again expecting it to play for you.. if you use your eyes you can do it correct. the physics are fine. the reason sonic can stand almost vertically is because there are parts where sonic is running up a wall so again it makes sense.

The Death Egg Robot. One of the hardest Sonic bosses of all time. No rings, a boss before the real boss, and you can die easily on either boss. That was the Sonic 2 version. This version (The Sonic IV Episode I version) is a JOKE. You have Super Sonic, tons of rings, and you have the homing attack.

Ordinarily, you can't go Super Sonic, but you do get a few rings and you have the homing attack. Still, the final boss takes a ton of hits, gets an electric charge on him, and wrecks the zone enough to kill you instantly if you don't kill it quick enough. In short, this bid used a hack that cheapened the fight.

i love this game. i played it for bout 6 hours last night. i played the levels over n over n over finding new routes and finding nice flow. sunset dash, i can play that non stop. i like that they ramped the difficulty on this eggman boss fight , nice gauntlet then BAM meet your maker lol. these levels are inspired by sonic 1 n 2 not rip off remakes, they are different. green hill emerald hill angel island all same style .GREEEN..
