Such a shame the sound effects are way too loud in these games. I remember that being a problem even on the early 90's on big Tube TV's of the time, the loudspeakers on these TV's were amazing (we were really spoiled huh) and the speakers filtered some of the Treble out, but even then the SFX were overbearing at times

The level designs of the platformer stages are unique. However, the special stages of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode II is similar to Sonic the Hedgehog 2.

Actually I think Tails, and Knuckles, and maybe Shadow characters from the Sega console era does have and can have more of their own video games. There is Knuckles Chaotix for the Sega 32X, Tails Adventure and Tails' Skypatrol for the Sega Game Gear. I think these characters are popular and different enough to have their own video games. Shadow the Hedgehog might also work, but the Shadow the Hedgehog video game (2005) might convince Sega not to make another Shadow the Hedgehog video game.

Dude, it's crazy... I flatout skipped entire generations of consoles after the Playstation 2. At the time (early 2000's) I didn't even know full 3D Sonic Adventure games existed yet (for whatever reason seems to me like the press did not publicize them a whole lot??) My impression from all these Sonic games out there is that they seemed to be WAY AHEAD OF THEIR TIME, most of them.

Okay, I will admit that the Shadow Hedgehog game for PS2 is pretty bad (mostly due to controls) But the other Sonic games out there, 2D or 3D, seem pretty fucking good to me. Either there was bad press/publicizing or there was an "anti-sonic" movement on the gaming media, I find it really strange how these games are kept a secret of sorts.
