Excellent! Having worked in this industry I can tell you that what you've done is pretty monumental: Emulating the sound of a Yamaha Sega Genesis sound chip, and the most iconic song produced for it.. on the HuC6280. I never thought anyone would do it especially after so much time. This greatly speaks to your skill! If you can take a request - A track from Castlevania 4 or Gradius 3 on the HuC6280 would also be incredible.

This sounds like masterpiece that could've been on the Turbografx-16!

Incredibly incredible! Imagine a port for the Turbo Grafx 16 of Sonic 1

Once you said that I had to go look to see if anyone had made a TG16 Sonic game. Nobody to my surprise!

@@f.k.b.16 Sadly, the PC-Engine homebrew scene is incredibly small, especially in comparison with Commodore 64, NES or Genesis ones.

There was a CD demo made many years ago. In terms of gameplay there was some basic stuff that you could do in it, but what was there showed a lot of potential - I remember Sonic's physics were spot-on. The graphics were really good too. Unfortunately, the .iso is nowhere to be found anymore and can't seem to find any footage on KZbin either.

Ok, this is really awesome. I'm genuinely enjoying this version every bit as much as the original. The waveform choices for the instrumentation are really solid here, and while they are certainly different than the FM (and SMS PSG) derived ones from the Genesis original they still manage to provide a similar overall sound quality and style, yet with some of the TurboGrafx-16's most signature waveforms. This sort or takes me back to before I knew what Sonic the Hedgehog was and I first glanced at that June of 1991 issue of GamePro from afar featuring him on that original cover with the white background. I was too far away to read the smaller print at that moment, but I remember thinking to myself; "That looks really neat! I hope it's a new TG16 game!". Suffice it to say, it wasn't... This, however, makes me think more of what that might have been like. Once again, I can scratch another PCE cover I no longer need to do. Lol Great work as always Frag, I really enjoyed it!!

If the homebrew community can make a Sonic the hedgehog game to go with the music.

This sounds so similar to the Genesis if you played it to me without context I would have known it wasn't original but I would have figured it was from like the Genesis 3 or one of those knock off retro systems. Great job! It sounds amazing!

Genesis 3 isn’t a knock-off, it will officially sanctioned by Sega, only produced by Majesco

@@honkmii459 Yep I was just noting the Genesis 3 had sound quality issues (similar to the knock offs)

This is a pretty strict conversion of the Mega Drive track. Can you try a pimped up version of Scrap Brain from the Game Gear? IMO the GG had better compositions, than the MD games only the hardware was very simple.

Nice!! Is the channel with the drums in ADPCM mode? Sounds super-clean. I haven't heard much on PCE that sounds this full and rich. Great work! (as usual!)
