Artists work often reflects the artists themselves so of course what they draw will differ from other artists/the source material. You may personally see no reason for it but to that artist those scars could mean a whole lot. Unfortunately in majority of media trans and queer characters are often not represented which can lead to some artists drawing or writing their favorite characters as LGBTQ
