Attn Sonic Executives. If I were you I would solidify this already successful business relationship in stone by offering Matt an OG version of each unit he's chosen to purchase. Great product + great people = unstoppable. Taking notes on how to market my vendors products - nobody markets products at this level of detail and unbiased scrutiny - excellent work Matt.

I have been in the field for 17 years as a Biomedical Technician , I would love to try these out in my shop, it seems a much better fit than the automotive tool vendors who only care more about repeat business and not so much about outline fields. You’re a Wonderful Ambassador of efficiency and organization my friend. You are Appreciated!

As a 16 year tech and having so many thousands in tools I would love to give one of those s12 carts a shot! My only complaint would be as a tech my first drawer would be all sockets standing up and that drawer isn't tall enough.

There's a good cabinet with deep drawers, i've no idea if it can have wheels put on it or not. MSS 26

Sonic tools are just ok, really expensive for Taiwan tools and very little german tools in the kits. What really stands this particular company apart from others is the arrangement of the toolboxes and tools(foam inserts). the cheapest S12 XD with tools is around 8k, at that price you can get much higher quality tools, with a medium to high-quality tools box if you do some shopping around. I built my 62" box with USA/German/Japanese tools for around 3.5K, the only downfall is the organization part. But there is a solution, you can purchase custom foam inserts from various companies now.

Andres Solis The problem is the price, I buy S15 fully loaded in Europe for 7.400 €. I think in the US for the same is over $ 13.000. For the price I paid I think is Ok price, I replace the ratchets and torque wrenches with Facom units because the quality is less than ideal. But those prices.... Yeah not worthy.

Amazed with the presentation of these tools and the organization! Thank you for doing what you do Matt!

The amount of information you gave is insane! That is why OG is top notch! As a prior air force special forces crew chief. this line up of tool boxes is like working the flight line on a sunny 70 degree day. The s12 xd yeah I need one. Because I have an issue... I like older German cars therefore I am the warranty. but i could never find the right box and tool combo. Till now so thank you for sharing.

What i wonder about in regards to the S9 or S12, are the slider mechanisms serviceable/replaceable if they crap out? That was a feature at one point of really high end cabinets or toolboxes that were marketed to machinists, but it seems like that is no longer something companies do.
@ObsessedGarage2 жыл бұрын
They would be replaced/swapable.

Very very good in-depth look into these boxes I feel like I’ve been and looked at these in person, if I was in the states sonic would be my personal choice over the Mac tools roll cab I currently use at work.

Shame the top chest doesn’t have a lid that lifts up. That would be ideal to stand sockets, not to mention closest to your eyes for ease of visibility!

How much is it fully loaded with tools and inlays when paired with the S9+matching top cabinet ($2200)?
@ObsessedGarage4 жыл бұрын
That's about $10,000.
@JBaek244 жыл бұрын
So all the tools alone would be close to $8k? wow. I need to rebudget this toolbox build but this $10k set should keep me happy for a very long time!

Trying to find info on Sonic is difficult. I think there are are a lot of guys like me that want a step up from the flimsy Home Depot/Harbor Freight boxes, yet don't have $10K for Snap-On products. Maybe this is the solution. But, I haven't heard anything from this video that describes these tools/boxes in that way. I notice that when you have the drawer pulled out, the whole drawer shakes. That's not a good sign, given that while this stuff is not as expensive as Snap-on, is hardly cheap. That seems to describe this entire industry. Craftsmen for us mere mortals, or Snap-on for rich people....

Do they “plan” on offering a top box for the S12 or S12XD?

I love these cabinets and tools but all this money and Sonic can't provide soft-close drawers??? WTF!??

Soft close is for under mount drawer glides. You don’t want under mount on a tool box.

How can you help a young mechanic with very min credit afford these tools for my trade. I'd love to switch but getting the whole lot is costly for me?

If I was in your shoes, I would get a second job to pay for the tools for my craft, or I would negotiate with my employer to have them get me a set.

OG should assembly The Bugatti of portable wash carts and offer to the hospitals. Take a kranzle pressure washer + sonic cart + EGO leaf blower and you can wash and dry [with soapy water], with great productivity, large surfaces in hospitals, inside ICU [with the precise nozzles] w/o damaging the fancy medical equipment and outside washing tall facades and lengthy surfaces. Just take a portable high pressure washer and a precise nozzle and you can soapy water the world 🌎 This is important now that they found COVID inside air con devices and standing water pools. 👊 You can save the civilized world, Matt... let's do this.
