I know you make money from your own captures. It’s awesome that you feature other great tones and share it with your audience ❤.

Thank you! We are waiting for the next video with a detailed test of Tonex vs QC, which of them sounds more natural to an analog amplifier.

Man I LOVE the good ol' SD JB so much. It's hard to beat in my book, people say the bottom end is to loose and boomy but just adjust the amp if that is an issue, and boom problem solved. It's just so musical and heavy if used correctly. Plus it doesn't hurt that my favorite guitarists used it extensivley on some of my favorite records of all time. Alice in Chains Dirt was recorded almost entirely with a JB and Dirt is one of my top 3 favorite albums of all time.

Haaa, just buy the ToneX pedal for live application, I have used it last weekend with your capture of the PRS MT15 (wich I used before owning the ToneX) and it sound like my PRS. Same settings, same IR and it sounds like the real amp. Perfect ! 🔥🤘Thank you for that John ❤‍🔥 So this is very interesting for me now 😜

that's cool, did you go direct or into a poweramp/cab?
@ederiel

@@AkiraSpectrum I use a tube screamer, then Tonex pedal, then a modulation pedal, and into a passive DI box, and then direct in our stage monitor console and FOH

These guys and amalgam are making my favorite QC capture packs. The BT stuff sounds and feels great. The Soldano 30 and Mesa Mark V are really fun to play

Good lord that guitar is beautiful! I own the TONEX and some of the high gains tones are awesome, but some of the drive tones are just incredibly responsive to good pickups. I just wish there was a way to raise the volume level and lower it on some patches instead of adjusting the compressor to raise the volume levels so you can play like a live rig. It works but I have not discovered any other way yet in the few weeks I have had this pedal. Is there another way?

The “mix ready” title that I’d say most of the people who sell IRs, presets and captures add for marketing reasons is kinda silly. I’m guilty of it too but in the grand scheme of things it’s all so subjective

Tonex or QC? what is your personal preference on what capture tech is more accurate?

If the gain structure is pretty identical you can match those. The only difference will be the EQ.

That's what I waned to say, I don't really hear the amps character. Using headphones.

The only thing a cab IR does is phase/eq. That’s it. Saying “it’s just eq” is just silly

@adiriakya9724 4 ай бұрын
@@threepe0 The IR is not changing the structure of the gain stage or the response :) in fact you can use EQ and emulate an IR :)

Everything is going into the back of your amp in the effects loop correct?

This is what I’m looking for. OwnHammer heavy hitters is just too much to navigate. I don’t need 20 billion IR’s, just a few good ones

Would love to hear them compared to the fractal stuff! Still thinking about trading my FM9 for a QC.
@MatthiasBuesing

Don't do it! The modeling and tweakabilty of a Fractal is far better...not to mention aspects like studiness etc.

If you like capturing and don't need all the effects and options from the Fractal it might be a good choice. I've been really loving the QC lately because of the capture tech. It's hard to beat!

@@SonicDriveStudio Thank you! Yeah, I would need to buy captures because I dont have that much amps anymore. But how do the captures compare to the modelling in the fractal?

@Ic3Ang3l well, the captures that I've been making recently are VERY close to my own real amps

Do not do that! Buy an inexpensive Tonex pedal, it sounds better and more natural than the QC.
