at 18 I was diagnosed with a very rare form of epilepsy, Had to be ressucitaded multiple times, I deal with musicians dystopia due to nerve damage (Hence my never ending search for the perfect neck) I don't post on here anymore as it's become a bit you know. I'm now 34 and trying to save my passion (hoping to buy a guitar soon, just got a apartment after being homeless) have gear i bought 4 years ago and haven't even bothered hooking them up (no guitar) it feels odd but i'll take your words of wisdom and try to keep pushing. Thank you for sharing it truly helps seeing a fellow warrior continue his passion.

Pausing at 7:04 to guess A for Helix and B for real amp. We'll see! Edit -- neato, got it. But in no way do I think one is "worse" than the other. Someone else said B sounded darker, and listening in my car that's what I picked out, too. But man they're both so good. My Helix LT is so extremely good, I couldn't be happier with it.

I can't believe I like the V30 best. I don't even really love that speaker. I had high hopes for the F70. Maybe with different tones. They all sound good.

Damn, that Redback just sounded so "at ease" in the first clip like that's what it was BORN TO DO. Wow. But then the Creamback started up and added in a little more edge and that was very cool too. Maybe those two would be a great pair. As I listen more maybe the V30 and a Cream? I don't know, they all sound really good in their own way. The Red seems like it would be a perfect rhythm guitar speaker.

Another door did open Dude. Your tight creative inspiring hard rock rhythm lead type of style is super amazing. Its the way the rhythm work and the chording and the broken sort of lead chording stuff, man, its just so much fresher than a traditional guitar solo. Its my favorite playing on the internet. And its comes with a bonus! The best tones too! Everything for a reason my friend. Glad to see you have become what you've become and glad to see those blessings rollin in and glad for this amazing content you bring us 🎉

I've been struggling with the same. After 25 years I finally made it in a band and started doing well. My last show was at Kickstands in Sturgis. I made it through that show through sheer willpower and some luck. I stepped away from the band, and took 4 months off of playing. I picked up a guitar and went full tilt practicing. The problem was still there. I'm not going to lie, it brought me to tears. But I have a friend that's willing to jam and make music whenever/however I'm able. So coming to terms has been hard, but recording has been the ticket. I'm able to play/record as my condition allows. But realizing that I'm not going to be able to be a touring musician was such a tough pill to swallow. I'm thankful to know that I'm not the only one dealing with it. So thankful you decided to share man.

Inspiring video! After 40 years of full-time guitar teaching and guitar playing I'm now having to deal with CMC arthritis in my left thumb. I'm only 53 but I had a bad accident when I was 9 that broke that thumb and wrist really bad. So when I started playing guitar at 14 there were always certain issues to overcome with that hand but my youthfulness probably helped offset the problems. As I've gotten older I've had ongoing bouts of golfer's elbow and tennis elbow and rotator cuff problems, all from guitar playing so much. I have successfully managed to rehab my rotator cuffs with a Shoulder Reliever kit that I found online (it totally worked which is impressive because my shoulders were pretty bad), And the tennis and golfer's elbow have mostly been manageable now that the rotator cuffs are healthier. But last year I got diagnosed with CMC arthritis. The arthritis is due partly to age and wear-and-tear but especially due to my childhood accident. The X-rays apparently showed "signs of previous trauma" in that part of my hand. And now I have increasingly bad chronic pain in my left thumb. I am able to get an occasional steroid injection in my thumb, but overall I have chronic pain regardless if I play guitar or not. I now frequently wear a compression glove and something called a MetaGrip thumb brace that helps support the joint to minimize the pain but overall it's just something that can't be cured or completely fixed. Even surgery would be a hit-and-miss option and would essentially be a permanent change in how my hand works but things may get to that point soon. It's been a genuine struggle and disappointment to see something so central to my life slowly slipping away. I've been trying to wrap up unfinished guitar works and I'm definitely trying to transition to another deep love of mine of more compositional orchestral type creative work. But underneath it all is a deep sadness that is hard to overcome moving forward. It is what it is and this is a new chapter in my life that is going to take a lot of work and soul-searching to navigate. Hearing other stories of similar struggles in people that I respect is encouraging. Thanks for sharing and being vulnerable.

I preferred the Helix in the isolated tracks because of the low end that you mentioned. It also had little less presence to me, so by itself it sounded nicer. But the real amp sat much better in the mix. Just the right frequencies

I feel like the hi-hats on VST drums always miss the mark. You get two options: 1. Hats completely closed. 2. Hats wide open, cymbals not touching. Nothing in between, so you can't get that rock sizzle sound.

I recently bought a Les Paul Deluxe and it was amazing out of the box for $2300. Superb deal. For some reason they forgot the fourth screw on the backplate (lol) but I found a few of those lying around so I just installed one of them. The bodies may be CNCed but these guitars are still hand-finished so you can't expect machine-like perfection. If you want perfection, ask a robot.

Your style is very interesting, and seemed quite right hand focused, IE rhythmic invention over melodic ….without knowing or perceiving your left hand had such issues😳 Yes focus: I became aware that my gift is single note leads, playing across chord changes, i wanted to learn to play over more & more complex progressions, (by ear, I’m completely intuitive, reading is not something I did well) with key changes etc beyond the rock idiom, so I gravitated to Jazz on Pandora, and with no band possibility during Covid, I stopped worrying about playing whole songs and my limited chord knowledge After 5 years of being exclusively a soloist, I am noticing a problem, full songs I used to play …well, I literally can’t But the music world has changed and being in my late 60’s playing at home is probably all I will be doing, so I’m ok with it. It’s like therapy, I’m glad to know you have found a place and a way to continue😄 , as have I.

I feel this in a huge way! 3 years ago I completely lost my voice. But my condition ending up being hypothyroidism and not only did I lose my voice. I was feeling sick and abnormally fatigued. Which this was caused from being exposed to radiation when I worked on nukes in the USAF. I've thought about doing a video talking about it. I just haven't found the right time.
