that's not what ironic means. Ironic would be if you researched tons of videos specifically looking for your model car, and you found every model except yours. That would be ironic. Pretty much the opposite of what happened to you.

I haven't switched out a stereo since the late 80's or early 90's. I wasn't sure I'd be able to handle any of the new stuff, but it appears to not have changed all that much. I don't know if the rest of your videos have the same production values, but you did a remarkable job on this one. It was laid out in an intuitive manner and standard terminology used is great for us lay people. Thank you for the post and it did it's job. I am going to look to purchase from you guys.

excellent tutorial video, I'd like to add that once you've connected the wiring and slid the head unit back into place, it's a good idea to test it before fully installing all the dash trim, it's a bit easier to find out if there is a problem and correcting it then, rather than completing the install and find out then that there is an issue, it is rare with a new stereo install but it does happen... especially test everything prior to completing the install if you're installing a used head unit or if you've later pulled out the head unit to make connections for an amp or other accessory, visually reinspect all your connections also to insure everything is still in good condition

A wire harness allows you to keep your factory wiring plug in case you want to put your stock radio back in. The wire harness that you get with the new radio is designed to wire up to a special wire harness adapter that connects to the factory plug in your car. No splicing and figuring out wires necessary.

If you wanted to install a tablet, you would have to custom fabricate a mount for it or have someone do one for you. We do custom fabrications if you can ship us your dash panel. Connecting a tablet to a single DIN radio via USB or 3.5MM headphone jack is the easiest way to do it. You can hide the radio in the dash or glove box if you have room.

Do all OEM radios have the orange/white wire so the LCD screen dims when I turn my headlights on? What if my OEM wire harness doesn't have the wire that will dim my LCD screen? I really want my screen to dim at night so the screen isn't so bright but I'm scared my stock factory radio (which is just like the one removed in this video) won't have that wire.

Graciel leal after some research, I think the harness adapter that you buy separately (specifically for your car) has the dimming wire and then you connect it to the dimming wire on the harness that comes with the double din. So it should dim

If the radio is 7 inches wide or more, and if it is 4 inches high or more then you have a double din or the ability to have a double din. How does your car need 4 sets of RCAs? What radio do you have? What is your system like right now?
@SonicElectronix11 жыл бұрын
You might need the Metra 70-8901 wiring harness. It might not need a dash kit though.
@SonicElectronix11 жыл бұрын
If your butt connectors are not the correct size, and your wire is cheap, you might have problems with the butt connectors. If everything is size matched, the protective shielding on the wire will hit a lip on the butt connector and make the wire stop, however the exposed wire should go into the center of the connector. The wire harnesses are color coded, so you can leave out the colors you don't need. Not all radios have all of the wire colors on a wiring harness.
@SonicElectronix11 жыл бұрын
You would need to buy the double DIN dash kit if it fits with one, check the Metra or Scosche website and input your vehicle info to see if they have some dash kits for you.
