What I really love about this animation is how the writer put Sonic's personality in the events and subtly explained all the things from the classic games we just take at face value: the tunnels are rabbit holes, the placement of badniks are formations, the markers are communication to Robotnik, the Special Zone is created by the emeralds themselves, the wrecking ball from the first boss is actually earth, etc etc. They are all very creative solutions to questions a lot of fans probably didn't even know they had. Good job!

I love that each Badnik is represented in this animation, and that there’s commander versions of existing ones. Hope this continues with future episodes where sonic has to tangle with at least one of each badnik type and we get a commander to each zone.

Honestly I'd be more into this than Sonic Prime, despite being a retelling of the first game, with the additional details from other media, I think this has great potential to be a fully realized world, with unique places and people rather than being stuck with alternate dimension counterparts for everything

It’s awesome seeing this completed after seeing previews via social platforms or elsewhere a few years ago. Wax really killed it with a lot of specific combat related movement (among other moments as well), it’s so fluid and kinetic.

I first watched these on TheWax70's channel, and I loved them so much there, but now with the extra bits I didn't see and the added music and voices, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS! So many references and details! The plot points that were integrated into this story really impressed me because it felt so natural whether big or small. Everyone was so expressive from Sonic to Eggman and even the Badniks who do have character which is such a great creative choice although it's not like I've seen it before from this channel. I'm excited to see more of what this series brings!

The real winner here is the amount of detail and effort that went into making every scene count. Even if the animation gets choppy, it's absolutely full of cool visuals! this is genuinely delightful throughout, i love sonic's attitude and the music selection amplifying whats happening on screen, and the little story-based explanations of things like sonic speeding through tunnels in the earth and the placement of the eggman markers. the special stage sequence put a HUGE smile on my face. amazing that i've been seeing videos from this channel since i was a kid and now here i am, in its target demographic, still enjoying it so thoroughly

imma be honest i dropped outa sonic paradox a while back after i had sonic heroes music forever rewritten in my mind but dang this was super high quality, everyone did an amazing job with this!

I just stumbled upon this thing entirely and I must say: I love it. Such awesome and powerful art and thought was clearly put into this creation. It has such a cute art-style that resembles the classic retro sonic games wonderfully, and has such a comedic telling of Sonic's attitude, like with showing the badniks the emerald and yet saying "Nope! Haven't seen it~!", even as a classic/younger version of himself. Not to mention the links to the classic game such as the sign posts, the warp rings to the Chaos Emeralds, dodging the goals to get the gems, even asking the rabbit to use the hole to travel around, and I didn't even know I needed *Graffiti* Sonic in my life to paint upon Ivo Robotnic's sign, as a telling of how Sonic makes the sign his own. And Ivo's wreaking ball being taken as a chunk of the background? Amazing story linkage aswell. Overall such a wonderful head-canon to the older games in so many ways, and showing the Protagonist and Antagonist meeting and Sonic calling him the big cheese, no, the big Egg is such a great start to how he started calling Eggman. Great work! Edit: I had just realized how I reconised the art style! I used to watch the memes of the Sonic Paradox videos long time ago! This feels straight out of *my* childhood, being recent of teenage myself. Such fantastic work guys! Good to see you still at it. Also wanted to add how I reconised and loved the cockiness and style in each of Sonic's moves. It must of taken such a long to just even storyboard, let alone color and draw every detail!! And the flips, the movement, and expectantly the dances and rolling around was such a treat to watch. I loved every millisecond of this short video, and hope to see more. But i cannot blame anyone if it's a big task that takes years to complete just another episode, or cancel outright. Course I hope a continuance, but I'm satisfied by this single episode alone, it's that good.

Excellent work all round on this. I particularly liked the interpretations of the Chaos Emerald zones and changing of the sign post as well. Really came together well with some superb animation and fun action scenes. The music had some great remixes of the Sonic tunes as well and made for a great viewing.

This was so entertaining! The writing, animation, voice acting, it was all great and reminded me why Green Hill Zone was so awesome in the first place. I also like the little touches such as Sonic spray-painting the Goal Plate to have his face, the Badniks getting some extra personality, and Sonic still being connected to Longclaw like in the movies. It's so good! Sonic's attitude is captured so perfectly. Such style, such cockiness, such sass. I like the implication that the extra life boxes are like wanted posters. And the possible reason the game has six emeralds is because Sonic already had one. I've never seen the special stage in Sonic 1 look so cool. That scene was animated absolutely spectacularly. Sonic's moves were awesome.
