Ed isn't talked about enough. He is a treasure of the universe and I have to have his music in my life every day. I've been uplifted and transported so many times and it has been a beacon during the darker times. Ed's been through a lot, but he's still such a shining, positive force. His recent solo album, along with Space for the Earth and his son's recent work have been on constant rotation. I am so glad I stumbled across Strangitude back in the early 90's. What an amazing musical journey.

Wonderful wonderful human being. Intelligent, unassuming and absolutely fascinating person to be around. But make no mistake Ed is as sharp as they come , very little gets past this man. I toured with Ozrics as stage manager and Guitar tech to Ed and drum tech to Merv from Glastonbury festival to Santiago Chile... all i can say is just wow. I learnt so much about stuff i thought i already knew. Musicianship betterment by Symbiosis . Jammed acoustics with Ed a few times and he has that Zappa type skill of taking you beyond your skill level without you even realising . Great interview ... 💚

Ed is a gentleman. Last year he came up to me and said some deeply kind words, as I had lost my partner and my dad in quick succession, and Ed had realised this from my social media. I was so touched by that. One of my musical heroes doing that blew my mind. I've seen them countless times since the late 80's. They are UK underground legends. I urge anyone who has not had the live experience to correct that mistake. They tour regularly and extensively. Get out and see them.

Ed is such a top guy and is by far my favourite musician. I can remember the day a mate dropped Erpsongs on the 6th Form common room stereo in 1987. It was one of those life changing moments and I've been an obsessive fan ever since. It still seems like Ozrics are an underground band but they have a catalogue to rival any British band and one day there'll be more recognition. Best band ever, IMO.

Luckily I brought Ozric with me in 1993 abroad for a larger than life sentence when merely 21. Wow man now 2021 has long since begun after much laughter and hindsight aplenty with psychedelic vision of Ed Wynne's precision, recording relic and epic tastes of Tentacles. Now I'm free as a mushroom can be, to trip, grip and glide on the ride the music has given me. Thanks SonicScoop and Ed for the Sonic tonic, the void has been filled and buoyed my boat, afloat on waves, vibes and frequency of effervescent energy...

Now that rock is dead and we Have KZbin and the likes, they can finally enjoy the fame they (Ed) deserve ! I am sure Ed Wynne is not going to "let it go to his head" because is the superior minded musician he's always been. I am upset because I just discovered them but totally elated because I have 30 albums to explore and I listen to every song 3 times in a row , haven't yet found a song I didn't like and music is so intense that's not going to allow to feel sorry because you "cannot listen for the first time again" but you'll hear more new details every time ! Music's always been my drug and this is a powerful one ! 💙

this is such an enormous insight - it's as if Harry Houdini were giving away all his secrets! (PS - tight spin i think ended up on The Hidden Step eventually..,., there must be more of a story to that,.,) - Whoah! what an encyclopedia of revelations - it's quite possible that with this one video, Mr Ed Wynne (and our illustrious interviewer) has laid-bare and made concrete his setting of the standard for music to be made by future generations .,.,,..., I first heard this band in my school-room in 1991 - they instantly became my favourite music-makers of all time, and have remained so to this day!

By 2017 I was certain it was over with the Ozrics as I remembered Ed stating he was putting Ozrics on hold, assuming it would be bunch of years or not at all for a new Ozric release. Ed gives us Shimmer into Nature and blown away, then I was totally thrown off in 2020 of a new Ozric release with Space for the Earth and glad to see them still deliver the goods.

Thanks for this, this is a GREAT interview. I feel like Ed nailed it when speaking about story telling in his writing. I always felt the magic of them was the imaginative story-telling narrative in each song, album, chorus, tone etc etc. I’ve had the pleasure to have seen these guys live in many interesting places and have met the past and current members many times. So nice. The first time I met them they hooked us up with a ride to another town when we were stranded in a snow storm in Denver Colorado. I’ll never forget feeling “vulnerable” in that situation and these guys being oh so wonderfully kind and helping us out. I have many funny stories and magical memories from these “bizarre”adventures they were apart of. Cheers!

interesting listening to ed about the randomness of experimentation. as a player myself, i'm constantly improvising and experimenting with chords/sounds. i'm sure many of us do the same to a point. trial and error is another way of progressing forward, learning new techniques, and opening up new options too. manuals are handy and can help point the way forward with new equipment - but there's nothing like experimenting with stuff.

Sadly the Ozrics have gone in a more Electronic direction lately which is a shame as Ed is such a mega guitarist. Older fans will already know this but any new fans into Ozrics style of Psychedelic Space Rock should check out the early albums by The Ullulators and Psi Nuki. Very similar supersonic space guitar playing in both bands. All their older albums from 1980s/90s have been digitally remastered and are available to buy on Bandcamp.
