Man alive! A giant in the music industry. To accompany Michael Brauer on this musical challenge was simply fantastic. It is really great to watch such an experienced mixing engineer with his skills and in combination with modern technology achieve such a result - great! This Masterclass was once again excellent. Many thanks to you Justin and Michael! And what I have missed so far: Also many thanks to all the sponsors who made this Masterclass series possible! 🙏 You guys rock!! 😍 🙌

Thank you Michael! I have been struggling off and on with a stereo mix that needs this same treatment for about 3 months now. Would send the stereo tracks to a bunch of aux channels and try and sculpt elements out individually with filters. Now I'm going to have a better chance at getting the results I had hoped for! Thanks again to Sonic Scoop and Michael Brauer and company!

This is super cool. I did something similar using ozone a couple of weeks ago and was shocked at what it was able to do. Of course I’m here to learn about the mixing you did after you separated them. Of course it’s been a few years so now with my modern computer, I can run like eight instances of rebalance along with like 40 instances of other CPU heavy plug-ins, and my system handles it just fine which is insane

I also remember back in 89, my friend Spooky Spike called me and said he had a new project for me. This time it was only half a track, not even full mono. Six hours later I had a complete 5.1 mix that became number one in 374 countries. I bought my famous gold-plated diapers with the big check I got for the job.

35:50 I think Toontrack SD3 has the best drum replacement till date. It is the only plugin that detects drums using Machine learnt algorithm and then replaces it with, actual drum samples(great recordings, honestly), provided by Toontrack or 3rd party SDX or user selected samples. Yes, it's not cost effective but what it does is amazing. But anyways, this year's #mixcon is just, great once again. Thank you Sonicscoop.

What an amazing video!! I thoroughly enjoyed it. To keep me from completely climbing up the walls, from not being able to gig during these strange times we find ourselves in, I recently purchased a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 bundle, which has pro Tools First. But being a total caveman regarding recording, I'm just muddling my way through at the moment. Recording from home, and the rest of the lads in the band recording in their own homes also. With dipping my toes into recording, it definitely has saved me from insanity!! One thing that jumped out at me in Michael's video was, when he said that some of the knobs on his units, he didn't actually know what they were about, so he just twiddled and turned them until he heard what was pleasing to his ear, which made me quite happy, because that's all I'm capable of doing at present. My biggest drawback on this recording journey is the fact that I'm half deaf (Well actually, probably more than half deaf) My better of the two ears isn't great to start with, and the only sole purpose in life for me for my right ear is, somewhere to hang my glasses on!! Thank you for posting such an informative video. Just watching (And listening ) to what can be achieved was just amazing!! Blessings from Ireland.

At 35:00 or so you could use Massey DRT to extract perfect kick and snare triggers from stereo drums. It has a learn function that profiles the part of the kit you want to identify for triggering and then you can also go through with a fine-tooth-comb perfecting any misstriggers before rendering. Much quicker than manually doing everything!
@millennium-music Жыл бұрын
To 'Brauerize' your mix in the box, you've got to change the 'stereo output' of your vocal or instrument track to 'no output' (in Logic); open two send busses and put a different compressor with the same settings in each bus. Your 'dry sound' has now been split = brauerized. You can brauerize your 'wet sound' too; put each plugin in a different send bus, change the 'stereo output' of all those busses to for example 'bus 20'; then put the output of bus 20 to 'no output', open two send busses in bus 20, and put a different compressor with the same settings in each bus. Your wet sound has now been split = brauerized. Bring the brauerized dry and wet sound together in another send bus, and add a mulitpressor with light settings to this bus, only taming peaks. This bus is now your pre-master for this specific instrument. (The goal of splitting the sound through send busses is to enrich the sound and to control the dynamics of a specific instrument (or instrument group) before it reaches the stereo output.)
