The guitar work on this just RIPS. Also a little pat on my own back for guessing it was a Tele from hearing the recording first. Playing this type of riffage with a tone as clean, clear and twangy is a demonstration of power in and of itself; everything is clearly audible with zero mud, so there is ZERO room for sloppiness. Why is new hard rock like this completely overlooked by mainstream rock outlets. As I tell anyone who complains about new rock and metal; there is good stuff out there. You just can’t expect Sirius XM Octane to give it to you.

I absolutely agree. There is as much excellent new metal and hard rock as there was in the 80s. But unlike in the 80s it doesn't reach the mainstream any more. Not even the subculture mainstream. Comment below this one mentions Lunar Shadow, which I love but who split up without ever becoming widely known. In addition to them and Sonja there's The Night Eternal, Dool, The Neptune Power Federation, Green Lung, Sanhedrin, Blood Star, Unto Others, Caronte, Smoulder, Wytch Hazel, Green Lung, Oceans of Slumber, Lucifer, New Light Choir, Death Alley, and many many more. But sadly, even most metal and hard rock fans won't ever get to know them.
