Bock FK40 FK50 AC compressor shaft seal replacement (FKX40, FKX50)

How to replace the shaft seal on Bock FK compressor.
This compressor is mainly used on bus and coach AC units (the K version) and is adopted by almost all manufacturers like Spheros, Ebrspaecher Sutrak, Konvekta, Webasto, etc.
The construction of the compressors are the same only the nameplate on cylinderheads will be differrent. The Shaft seal is pretty much the same for all models and capacities.

Awsome tutorial! 👏 For replacing this seal kit,can it be changed on the vehicle whit the freon in it? Or should it be completly empty?

You can close the valves on the compressor, recover the refrigerant from the compressor and then you could if there is enough space. Everything needs to be super clean when working on the shaft seal.

Part number from Bock is 80023 and is the same for all FK compressor. Depending on who the compressor is made for Konvekta, Spheros, Sutrak part numbers will be different but essentially it is the same part.

depends on region, 100-120 Euros, there are also aftermarket solutions. just search for bock fkx shaft seal, I am pretty sure Google will have you covered.
