He didnot need to give her specifics as to what the contracts in his business entails and all that. What he could have done was give her the understanding of what the mob business is, the risks involved and the risk mitigating factors he had in place to keep them safe. She would have understood. She would then know what she was working with. That is what she kept telling him. She loved him that much to stand by him. He and only he is at fault for the breakdown of this relationship.

I absolutely agree with you @NeishaLuvsGH. Brenda should have been told the truth instead of being lied too. The fact that he started telling Carly the truth someone he HATED at the beginning but not Brenda someone he loved was beyond wrong. Rewatching this scene and I feel like this or soon after should've been the climax where he finally reveals his lies. All the tension building up to the wire should have just ended with him confessing. didn't understand the need to turn Brenda into the bad guy.

I always felt that SnB was the ultimate case of what you want vs what is best for you. I think fundamentally they were in different stages of life & maturity back then. They wanted each other but I don't feel that Sonny was good for Brenda during his rise to power, and Brenda's personality was not what Sonny needed during that same time.
