... and frankly, sonny's only chance of salvation is with brenda. she is his love, but also his conscience. she doesn't let him get away with anything except hurting her. she calls him out and no one does that, not even carly. carly is loyal and strong, but her loyalty is blind and doesn't question sonny's position in the mob or his ethics. I guess I'm in the minority, because this is when I began to despise Jax. In the beginning I thought he was good for Brenda (it was nice seeing her laugh and being carefree again) and it was definitely good for Sonny. But, once this accident takes place, Jax turns into this territorial pissy little boy. As if Brenda is his bone or something. And I'm sorry, Sonny was controlling enough for 6 men when came to Brenda, we didn't need another man trying to control her too.

IMHO: I believe that sonny is reacting to Lily the way he couldn't for Brenda. After he calms down, it's back to his conern for Brenda. It can be said that Sonny is not good for either woman in his life. But when he loves them you can feel it. If you hate him at times, that just means that he's a great actor.

I agree with you.. this was Sonny projecting his feelings for Brenda and making those pay onto Lily.. when in fact he wasn't concerned about Lily (not like that of Brenda) He knows or has a feeling it was Rivera and tells Harry to get him to NY right away. He knew, and he knew why.

ITA. Although, I don't think Lily was that bad. Sonny just kept feeding her BS to keep her happy. However, Jax and Brenda actually fell in love with one another. It was slow and natural. I'm a S&B fan at heart but I was so glad that Brenda had Jax. Sonny may have wanted to be with Brenda but he made a choice to marry Lily. So, Brenda had to move on with her life. I loved the Sonny/Brenda/Jax love triangle the first time around.

lily looks like a frog, but more than that she's just so holier-than-thou whilst being a manipulating husband stealer. sonny was honest with her, til he wasn't... he told her he still loved brenda, then told little white lies about his continued feelings. sonny betrays himself, over and over. first and most tragically with brenda. later with his children. the beauty of sonny & brenda now (2011) is that brenda showed him why he can't turn his back on his children. she makes him better...

@mwerner1020 - "Hard to believe Guza was a script writer for a while during alot of S&B in the 90's . He actually helped pen some of their dialouge. Guza has fallen far and taken GH with him :(" --- Well, remember, he wasn't a headwriter at the time. Most of what he has written for the S&B dialogue was probably scratched out and rewritten by someone one of his peers..lol!

These were great scenes. I don't think Brenda and Lily really hated each other. They both were fighting for the same guy, so things got a bit ugly. But atleast back then the women could be childish but then act like adults in real scenes.

She didn't care that Sonny and Brenda was madly in love. She didn't see what Sonny was doing to Lois and Brenda with L&B, she sided with Sonny, putting L&B in jeopardy. She seen an opportunity to get Sonny away from Brenda, and it worked. But it was Lily who got it in the end.
