Reportedly, she exacerbated his personal issues, all but encouraging him to go under the knife repeatedly in order to rectify his troubles. It was also during this time that he returned to amateur boxing, which didn’t do any favors for his career or features and directly contributed to the wax-like distortion of his current profile. If nothing else, the years he was married to Debra, 1981-1989, directly correlate with the best years of his career. It was only when he switched spouses that he took a dive, personally and professionally.

They should have gone deeper into this storyline and showed more of Sonny's dealings as Burnett and how he became so successful with these drug lords. At least 1 or 2 more episodes with him as Burnett would have been great. Especially since quite a few season 5 episodes were duds.
