Man, I forgot what great chemistry those two had! I watched this show when I was a kid in the '70's too! Years later I saw them reunited on Letterman, and then when Cher gave his eulogy. She was so broken up about losing "Son-the most memorable person I ever met" You could tell she never stopped loving him.

I agree I felt she still loved him she at her concerts decates the songs they do together and on screen sing with him I think he must of been tuff on her and he cheated am sure he was miserable then on letterman was nict to see them for last time togerther sorry hes no longer here they has a special relationship even when they divorced

I used to watch this show on TV Land every time it was on. Luckily it aired when I was home from school. I learned about so many good songs through this show. I thought they were all originals sung by Sonny & Cher. Imagine my surprise when I started looking these songs up years later once the internet became what it is now and realized only a handful of songs sung on the show were theirs. Lol...

When I was a kid, I used to watch it with my mom back in the 70s when it was on live TV! I think it was common in those days to do cover songs from other bands. That practice goes way back to the early days of musical recording. They only had a handful of hit singles that were original, but wow those hits were memorable!

I bet many of Cher's younger fans haven't got a clue that Cher was a big star, with her own variety show back in the 70's. I loved this show growing up. Carol Burnett had the best variety show, which Sonny & Cher guest starred on a few times, but this show was pretty good too. Especially the vamp skits.

I agree it would been nice to see them perform now in 2017 she talks about him and on her concerts she sings on a screen withhim I think she misses sonny and loved him I think when they divorced he wasn't the same sorry hepassed early I still watch the shows on lab top

Was this scripted? Because if not there was some MAJOR underlying tension between the two of them. Cher was ripping Sonny to shreds. It was awkward to watch. She has a sharp tongue and was quick with them come backs lol....

Cher ripping him was part of their act. Sonny was the one who put all that together long before they had this show. They would joke in between songs when they were on the road. Sonny purposely made himself the butt of the jokes. He was the brains of the operation sort of speak.

My mom told me they were divorcing.It was the “70’s I had no idea what divorce was. I remember laying on bed balling.All while clinging to a Sonny and Cher album. the album was kinda turquoise on the edges and a picture of the two of them in the middle

Sonny never could, and he knew it. He was only interested in writing and having Cher sing by herself. However, Cher was shy and scared to do it alone, so Sonny sang with her. She really owes her career to him. She would have never had the nerve or gotten the chance without him encouraging her and believing in her. She would have never gotten the chance to act if she hadn't already been famous from her TV show and songs with Sonny.

Sonny WAS a good singer, but he was entertaining mainly. It was comedy But I loved it when he was serious. They were great... What a great arrangement.
