I just loved these days. I was 7 on December 23,1971 and I watched these every week with my big sister, dad and my mom. All three are gone now. My sister just last Oct 24th,4 days after her 66th birthday. This makes my heart smile and ache all at the same time. Thanks for sharing

I was seven as well. My little sister was five. We loved this show Especially the VAMP skits. We used to play their album in our room. My name is Cheryl, so I got to be Cher. I'd put a pillow case on my hair to make it look long, and we'd 😅sing along. Also loved Tony Orlando and Dawn.

Loved Sonny & Cher.She was born in El Centro Ca near me(Brawley).I watched every show back in the day.I got a chance to meet Sonny back in 1989 in Palm Desert.He went to visit his mother that was in an assisted living facility.He was so warm,friendly,charming.He was Mayor of Palm Springs.He was well liked.When he died in 1998 in a skiing accident I went to his services in Palm Springs.Many ,many people from all over were there.He was a great man & I got to meet Cher.God bless them.

Thank you! You can verify her real age that nobody believes - she's not in her 70s. In '71, I was fourteen and she's at least 30 here, born in '39, if not mistaken. Jerry Garcia was born '42 and she's older than he. Jagger's in his 80s, too. There's nothing wrong with being older but today they don't print the real ages and birthdates of older celebrities.

I will always remember the date I have first seen my first love, Cher. I was only 11yo and now I am 64yo. I put on KZbin and this show just showed up. Im still a huge fan. Nobody seems to have caught it when Sony at 4:43 says "And then I'd come back at ya with my raper sharp.... wit" he had that little pause there because he knew he had screwed up the word razor but had to carry on because it was live TV and Cher knew it to but didn't skip a beat with the timing. "I remember when you played the fool..." 😂

So funny! I’m smiling at this memory. . . I was a teenager and my father thought they were hippies. Sonny, with that long hair and Cher w/ well, just Cher was a hippie (per Dad). My grandfather really liked Cher and never missed a show. Disobeying wasn’t considered by most of us kids then, but I got a few chances to watch with grandma and grandpa when it was too dark to hike across the farm. Don’t know if it was more fun watching the show or Grandpa pulling one over on his son-in-law. Hmm. (I was oldest of 7 and needed at home so it was a sweet treat)

Was born later than this. Those first 3 minutes explain everything to me. Cher was the real star, and Sonny was riding her coat-tails the entire time. I'm sorry for what happened to him in the end, but really, thanks to Cher, I do believe in life after love, and I believe we can all thrive when we follow our dreams.

Correction, sonny was the guy that set up their show, managed it, produced it, set cher up as the "straight man" so her comedy could shine. They did it together. He was older, I didn't know about the contracts...however, she knew he helped her get started, and develop as a performer She did brilliantly well for herself up to 2024. It all works out in the end. I'm happy for their collaboration. Great shows, great writers, great guests. Thanks CBS

She had a form of stage fright and begged Sonny to sing on stage with her. Sonny knew he was a terrible singer but also he did not want to loose her to Specter---so he made it work as a duo.

He is listed on Google. And he MAY be on Facebook snd other social channels. I hope you can find him! I don't know him personally

its funny when you look at the performers in the 70s its so evident how the were influenced by the way Elvis dressed in concert! Sonny has a toned down Elvis outfit! the Jackson 5 and others had outfits like Elvis

It was more complicated than that. They werent folliwing Elvises’ fashion as he was not the trendmaker then. Fashion at this time was largely being influenced by glam rock and David Bowie…. Elvis ess following them with his whote rhinestone bodysuit and big sunglasses etc.

He was introduced at the beginning of the "All in the Family" spoof. The gentleman's name is Robert Merrill, star baritone of the Metropolitan Opera. He was also an actor and performed and sang in musicals in various cities.
