I have heard/seen all the greats...SRV, Duane, Ry, Jimi, E.C....they all have their virtues and have given me many a thrill. But, quite by accident, I saw Sonny on the Crossroads 2010 DVD, and was immediately captivated and hooked. As I found more videos of him and obtained his CD's, I became an absolute addict. His guitar playing defies description except to say that it's in a different universe. Then to top things off, discovering his humility and grace...defines greatness! A true treasure!

He played this on the radio prior to a show he did in Salt Lake City circa 1994. He stated it was a little tune he was playing around with on the tour bus. That show was by far the best concert I've seen (of him or anyone).

Right hand finger pick, left hand slide -- right before he played this he spoke about how he was first attracted to Chet's finger picking, then later was influenced by Robert and delta slide players...
