Sonogno UPPER VERZASCA Valley Ticino Switzerland - Beautiful Village and La Froda Waterfall

Here is Part 2 of the best things to do in the Verzasca Valley! While most of the people limit their visit to Lavertezzo, the village with the unique turquoise waters, most of them do not consider visiting the upper part of the valley. The uppermost village of the Verzasca Valley is called SONOGNO and is very much worth a visit. The village charms with its many stone houses and just nearby is the waterfall "La Froda", which is a must-see when going up there!

Zum Schwimmen ist es zu kalt mit 13 Grad - bin eben Warmdusche ☺☺ Bin aber heute Morgen extra früh um 8:30 nach Lavertezzo gefahren, zum 2. Mal, für ein menschfreies Foto im Juli 😆 L' Osteria Paradiso ist eine gute Empfehlung - da ich drin gesessen habe, wurde ich von jedem sogar dem Koch begrüßt. Man muss Tisch reservieren besonders am Wochenende in den Ferien. Es war sehr lecker 😋

Great video! It is very nice that you introduce cultural information such as drinking with boccalino or recommending a typical restaurant. Ticino is one of the few cantons that I did not explore besides its main cities. Although this valley is far from my home by train, I think I will go hike there this fall. Do you have recommendation for a nice traditional hotel in these villages? Just a tip: I hiked from Meiringen to Grindelwald the other day and you would love the place for a video (Wellhorn, Rosenlaui Schlucht, Grosse Scheidegg). Out of this world sceneries!

Hi Karen. Thank you very much for your comment! Glad to hear that you enjoyed this new video. September is an interesting month, it's still Summer and the sky is in general clearer on sunny days. I find September quite good for traveling, it might not be too warm anymore but the majority of tourists are gone back home again. Lavertezzo and the whole Verzasca Valley might be more quiet during these days, so I think its a good time to visit. In Switzerland tehre are also some cheap deals to get during September, which is really great! I can recommend September. Regarding the weather: This years May, June and July have been very rainy so far, so hard to say when the weather is going to be good. Weather is mostly about luck.

First of all, I wanted to say it's really a beautiful video and a big thanks for that. To be honest, I love more central and northern Switzerland but after watching this video, I have to say I really wanted to travel to this region. The way you make this video really makes me convinced and I have to say it again, it's an amazing place. Yeah, I can see nature and the architecture are completely different when you go further down southern Switzerland. I think I must have passed by this canton when I was traveling to Como, Italy. Hi. Yes there is. In Switzerland, we have the "Postauto", which will take you to any village. You just need to reach a nearby trainstation first. That might be Locarno, Gordola or Sementina.

Hi. It's possible because I have done it, while filming. It might be a bit rushed and you wont be able to enjoy the places for too long. Maybe shortlisting is better. Or staying overnight. Foroglio however is in the Val Bavona and far away from the Verzasca Valley. That should be visited on a separate day.

Hi. Theres public transportation to every village in🇨🇭. The food in this place depends on the restaurant. Its surely cheaper than Luzern. Maybe around 15-25 CHF. I do not suggest a day trip from Luzern. Too much hassle. Better from Locarno
