I love 13x7 snares. This is now on my wish list. Thanks!

Great sounding demo. I’ve been looking at the 6.5 x 14 videos as well. Really liking what Sonor has been doing last few years.

Yea they’re still very focused on high end instruments, but they’re definitely trying to bring as much of that as possible to a more accessible price point. I use these drums every bit as much as my more “top end” Sonor drums. They’re just great sounding instruments.

I think you’ve picked the two most interesting snares in the whole range to review and both sound terrific. I bought the Alu 5.75 though as that size suits me best… I love it and it’s going to get a lot of use, though I did upgrade the wires. The wires are the one area of compromise in this series but easy fixed (I use Bibin wires as they make sets for the OSM diameters). I also upgraded to the dual glide throw. Thanks for your terrific playing and showcasing the snares with different types of music, it helps.

Thanks Voitek! Yes these were the two most interesting drums to me so I had too get them! I’ve been massively impressed with the Kompressor range and they really fit in nicely with my more expensive Sonor snare drums. I have been looking at the Bibin wires because I usually use Sonor wires on all my snare drums. I was tempted to upgrade the throw off but after using the standard one it seems to be fine. I do like the dual glide though! Thanks again for the kind words and watching - I’ll be uploading more soon!

On paper I would pick a 13/7 brass over a 14/8 alu, but from your vids the alu would be my choice. Another great video.

Thanks! Yea they’re quite different from each other. I think a comparison video might be in order to hear them both at the same time and with the same kit etc. You can’t go wrong with either. They’re both great!

Will you record Kompressor STEEL test?

Hey! Probably not because I already have a couple of Steel Sonor drums, but if enough people want to seen it I could try to make it happen!

That throw-off is an absolute nightmare. The lugs are also pretty bad. This snare drum is just a slightly revamped AQ2. I don`t recommend it at all.
@James-Chapman-Drums Жыл бұрын
That’s not my experience with these drums at all. The throw off works absolutely fine. It’s smooth, holds its position and adjusts well. Obviously it’s not as good as the dual glide, but the drum has the same hole spacing as the dual glide and since these drums are affordable, you can spend the extra to upgrade that if you wanted. Also the lugs are absolutely fine. I hit VERY hard and these drums stay in tune, and I cranked them right up for the demos and haven’t had any issues. Obviously not every drum if for everybody and that’s totally fine, but having lots of top end Sonor snare drums, I still use and recommend these.

I have an S Class Maple kit, year 2001 model, among other Sonor kits. The snare drum has a black plastic version of strainer. It has always been working flawlessly, like Sonor stuff usually does. So, I don't understand what you are talking about
@bishopoftroy9 ай бұрын
@@seppoinnanen5577 yep, 2001, not 2024. Like Sonor usually does...above 3000 $. Sure. I got instead a Mapex, half the price, double the quality. Sonor never again.
