I think Gemma wanted to be at side of whoever was in power. She was with JT and Clay and wanted to do the samething with Jax but Tara cut her off and took that spot. I think Gemma always resented that.

In the final analysis Gemma was at the heart of the entire SamCro story. JT vs Clay had Gemma in the middle. Jt lost. Jax vs Clay had Gemma in the middle. Clay lost, but so did Tara. Jax almost got the club in the right end, but Gemma's lies killed it, and it was all over. She was the heart of ALL the problems.

Gemma was definitely the most manipulative, callous and cunning character on the whole show, almost as bad as Clay was! Her only redeeming quality, was the love she had for her children and grandchildren but that still didn't stop her from poisoning all of their lives and therefore ruining them. It always did bug me that Jax never got the full truth about her part in ALL of it but at the same time he got to know enough and he didn't need any more pain, especially after having to kill her. But oh man Gemma and Clay were the destruction of everyone's lives, the club and absolutely everything on the show! Kurt Sutter is such an excellent character writer and the way he portrayed those two, *chef's kiss*

Gemma was directly or indirectly the reason behind almost all the chaos in sons. I just wish tara would of gave the letters to jax or at least counted them because back stabbing gem took out at least 4-5 of them. After the later seasons I no longer feel bad for what happened in Albification S2E1

I guarantee you the one thing that really set him off, the one thing that pushed Jax over the edge was Clay trying to kill Tara. If Clay hadnt of gone for that hit on Tara i honestly believe Jax wouldn't have wanted Clay dead and wouldve looked past everything else. Tara was the trigger.

This was before Jury told Jax that JT willingly rode his bike onto an 18 wheeler even though he was well aware that his bike was sabotaged by Clay and Gemma. He gave up on trying to save his club and his kids.

I hated this because it completely retcons everything else that was built up over the course of 7 seasons. Anyway, the guy who put out that theory was a man named Judy, who Jax kills. He believed that Jax allowed the bike to hit the semi-truck and die because he hated what the club became. I don't believe this is true is because JT was trying to get the club out of guns and was on the way to meet with the IRA, or someone connected to them to begin the process. Plus, he would have never abandoned his boys or let them be sucked into this life without a fight.

It's interesting to see that Gemma didn't tell him the whole truth. Only part of it. I think Jax should've left when he had the chance. Maybe not form his own Biker gang or Motorcycle club. But formed a faction and encourage his fellow biker bros to join him there while Clay fails as he's invested in illegal gun running and drugs. Jax would've used the letters to turn the gang against Clay and and they all had a vote to shut down the Club and all that'd be left of it would be former SAMCRO members. The only reason they didn't is because They needed Clay alive to form the Irishmen deal and they wouldn't deal with anyone else. But other than that, Clay was just a nuisance to the rest of the club.

Well I haven't even watched most of the show but what jury said was just a speculation, JT has noted in his letters that Gemma and clay took multiple attempts at his life, and even if jury was right, JT probably figured that they'll keep trying to kill him anyway so he just gave up

Looking back at the whole series and this scene in particular I always wondered a few things. 1. How did Clay manage to not only kill the founder of the club, but take the gavel when there were rumors circulating about him killing John? Clay took the presidency with no pushback whatsoever?? 2. On top of that he took his wife. Jax never suspected his mom having anything to do with it as soon as she told him Clay killed him? 3. No way Clay and Gemma did all of it alone, there had to be other club members that backed Clay especially if he was able to become president, they had to be in on it with him, no way in hell he and Gemma conspired, did it, and got off Scott free with rumors circulating. 4. I kinda wonder if Tig was the one driving the semi that ran John over. It would explain the fierce loyalty he had for Clay and most likely how he earned the Sgt flash. I hope we get a prequel to shed some light on how everything went down.

Wasn't it revealed that J.T. commited suicide? We cannot know for sure, because it was just mentioned by another character, but given what Jax thinks and does in the last epsiode, it seems about right. Other than that, those questions should have crossed his mind :D

I forget which episode it was but in season 4 he and Gemma have a conversation where he says "I had John Teller killed while I was sleeping with his wife. It doesn't matter the reason why if Jax finds that out he cuts off my God damn head and sticks it on the Reaper pole" perhaps John just gave up and allowed his life to be taken, but Clay was still planning to do something and the letters John wrote pointed him to that. If he didn't think they would he wouldn't have did the things he did(i.e kill Piney, try to kill Tara etc)

However, JT was broken, and his friend said to Jax that he probably wantes to put an end to hia failings. Jax shots him for that. At that point, he was president of another charter.

Also was a good friend of JTs, I guess another Piney basically. She was so loyal to Clay until he started trying to kill Tara and he beat her for confronting her about it. And John always gone in Ireland having an affair while she’s raising his sons and one of them were sick and died. Idk about Clay but She had her reasons to turn on John.

They went through all of the trouble to prove that Clay sabotaged his bike while going to a meeting to begin the process of getting the MC out of guns, only to have a stupid reveal that he allowed the bike to crash because he felt guilty of what he and the MC has become, despite the fact that he was on his way to change all of that?! Seriously, I really didn't like it. I hope a prequel series puts this reveal to rest and that it's just part of Jury's incorrect theory.
