Yep, and he’s not the only one. Chuck Zito (Frankie Diamonds), Rusty Coones (Quinn), and Sonny Barger (Lenny "The Pimp" Janowitz) are all real Hells Angels. Lenny shows up much sooner but the others are way later in the show.

You can't touch the music on this show, all the songs throughout the entire series are perfect. A lot of them fit what's happening in the scene down the placement of each lyric. Ugh, it's amazing.

I saw this when it first came out My brother got me into it because he knows I'm a Shakespeare fan. I found it interesting that it was a motorcycle series that's loosely based on Hamlet. So I started watching and I was addicted right away I would sometimes wait and not watch it for about a month so I could binge a little bit. I love yall's reactions And how much you like you're getting into the show!!

Chuck's compulsive disorder is real. It falls under the OCD umbrella because it is a compulsion. I read it was not a diagnosable mental health condition though. I just did a quick read of it but that's the gist of what I found.

Blacking out club tats is a sign it means the person is not only out of his club but to everyone else in the community he is marked a disgrace. When I first saw SOA I was intrigued but this episode really sets the tone for the rest of the series run. The reveal about Kyle was the reason Opie went to jail. Originally I thought the club would take Kyle back they needed money and would have used Kyle’s side business to supplement them. But the minute they saw he still had his Sons tat and Clay said the words ‘fire or knife’ you learn firsthand the club is serious about their rules and when you break them the price paid is agony and blood. Tara’s ATF ex continues to work his way into the town and all of it just to get to Tara.

Trivia for you guys! The prisoner with the scar on his eye (Otto), is the show creator/writer- Kurt Sutter. He is also married to Katey Sagal, aka "Gemma". The TV series he was known for creating before Sons was The Shield. Several cast members of The Shield make appearances on Sons, 1st one being that creepy ATF agent stalker. EDIT: lol, I shoulda read the comments first, beaten like a red headed step child

I’ve met Ryan Hurst, David Labrava (Happy) & Mark Boone Junior (Bobby) and all of them are AWESOME!!! Ryan hurst really is that tall & his hands are MASSIVE & im like 6’1 on a good day & he is easily 6’7 😂. David was exactly like his character & Mark actually told us that David (Happy) came to set day one acting like the part because he actually LIVES that life 😅 & he absolutely gave off that vibe in person

I think Jax realizes that he has become something that his father would be disappointed in. He's been able to escape to his writings but after what he did, he can't bring himself to read it. He just looks at the Prospect cleaning up their dirty work. They also turned over Chucky to the gang knowing he'd probably be killed. Even though he did screw them over. I think Jax is just realizing that some of the things his father was writing about are going to be harder for him to change, if he can change them at all. Guess you'll have to keep watching and find out.

I have read books about criminal MC gangs and one of the stories was about an ex-member who got his tattoo removed by his former "brothers". They took an angle grinder to all his club tattoos and peeled of his skin 😨

When Kyle chooses the fire, you can hear the relief slightly in Tig's voice when he says, "alright." So maybe knife would have been worse, maybe fire is faster than carving into a person's back, especially in a vast area. Sounds like he knows from experience, tho both equally suck.

Knife probably kills him. Because it would be very difficult to cut out only the skin layer of his tat. At least with burning, they can limit it to first degree burning where it mainly will only be his skin affected. Although it will still hurt like crazy and cripple him for a while because they did it all at once

Nope! I am not a prospect. I’ve been riding Harleys for over 20 years. My grandmother in law lives in front of one of the main ex members from Hells Angels. I have photos of when they would take over the whole neighborhood and they would park their choppers from corner to corner when they would get together and have meetings or come together for family gatherings and cook outs.

A little VFX magic for you: Of course they didn’t really set a guy on fire with Liquor and a Welding Torch. They actually used a Pig carcass to achieve the look of human skin burning. Kurt Sutter apparently did the Tattoo on the pigskin himself beforehand, so it would match.

Haven't seen anyone mention this, but I'm pretty sure FIRE is the better option all around. If it burns deep enough the nerve endings are burnt away so it doesn't hurt as much I think as well as the fire also cauterizes so there's minimal bleeding.
