Jay canonically uses concealer as mentioned in season 4, so it's possible that he always had freckles but just covered them up, also according to one of the series co-creators, Tommy Andreasen, Jay refers to Nya's mole as a "mark of eternal beauty", though as far as I know it's never mentioned in the show, but it's still sweet.

@@ReactZones lol, I personally don't mind the freckles, i think they were a good addition, while i do have nostalgia for the original designs, the faces for the original 4 ninja where kinda basic and didn't really have much personality to them, and the only real unique features where the eyebrows and in Kai's case a scar alongside the eyebrows, I do wish that Cole's design kept the rift scar at all times.

They changed the ninjas looks to be based off of the movie, to attract new viewers to watch the series. And they took away airjitzue and elemental dragons, because they felt the ninja were to powerful...even though there are limitations to both airjitzue and elemental dragons. They also did it to make it more "grounded". S8's changes was a turning point in the series and fandom. And many people either stopped watching or simply left the fandom entirely. It was crazy time...

I remember being 11 and mad at the changes in the animation as well as the new voice for Lloyd and contemplated whether or not I wanted to continue watching. But the stories for 8-10 kept me deeply invested. And the new designs grew on me a lot more. Wil Film stepped up their game after season 7. Now when they left Wil Film to go to Wild Brain, my interest did go down. Parents complained that the show got too dark so they made season 11 very childish. But I do still enjoy Prime Empire, Master of the Mountain, The Island, and Seabound. I quickly understood why Lloyd had to be recasted. He needed to grow up and have more of a young man’s voice. I think fans were scared that the whole cast would get recasted as well with the new animation or their characters personalities would be the same as the movie characters. But they were just the same lovable ninjago characters from all the other seasons.

Seasons 8,9,10 are the PEAK of Ninjago. They're all conected and have a INSANE storyline. I hope you'll enjoy them just as much as I did when I fisrt saw them.

when i saw the redesigns for the first time, i didnt know that there was a movie for ninjago. so i always thought in my head that they were redesigned to look older. and ill be honest, they kinda do look older (though jay's redesign is pretty debatable depending on who you ask) so all this time, up until recently, i thought the writers wanted to make them look older and not redesign them because of the movie's redesigns for them. id take that reasoning over the movie any day lol

He's always had a scar on his minifigure, even back when Ninjago was first released, but they never included it in the show until now. Never understood why, but I'm glad they finally acknowledged it.

Starting with this season, the Ninja's designs are based on the ones they had for the "Lego Ninjago Movie", which is NOT canon with the main show. And Lloyd has a new voice actor named Samuel Vincent, who voiced the titular character in "Martin Mystery", and, believe it or not, Double D from "Ed Edd n Eddy". There's actually a reason why the Royal Family appeared completely out of nowhere, and it's briefly explained/foreshadowed in one of the shorts that is released a couple years later, but I won't get into details about that so you don't end up getting spoiled.

Hot take but I kinda like Jays redesign, people complain he looks younger when I personally think he looks older. I especially like his hair, it got a darker color too it and it stands out more, gives off a more electrified look to him then his previous hair.

This is many people's favorite season while definitely not mine and personally this whole trilogy that you are about to embark on is not one of my favorite arcs in Ninjago I still think you will really enjoy this coming portion but personally I think there is far superior seasons. Some you've already watched and some you will get too later. Also when you finish all of ninjago I would really love to see a ranking the seasons from you and just your overall thoughts would be really awesome.

Season 7 was where the show kind of became bland for me. But when season 8 happened, i thought of it as garbage and still do. Why do people even call this the so-called peak. The main thing i hate about every season after season 7 is the redesigns. Did they really have to use the designs from the movie? i pretty much FORCED myself to watch the newer seasons.
