My original theory was that Garmadon wouldn't return or that if he did, both selves of him would return to form one from the cursed realm, and Ninjago. I believe if he were to show up he would choose his human form at first but he would constantly change his form into the Oni complexion when going into a fight. maybe he would become a master again and teach students to master their inner demons and live with them and embrace them (non-elemental students). Arin could leave Lloyd and find a different master who can teach him how to fight without an element and that could be Garmadon. any thoughts about this, if you want to add to this theary or debunk this please comment and like this post Plz.
