Great video, thanks. I’ve used this lens for about a year as an everyday and travel lens and if you understand it’s compromises, it’s an excellent lens. There are sharper and brighter alternatives but they don’t have the same versatility. It is highly recommended. Just one thing though, it’s a Sony E mount lens, not an FE as shown in some parts of the video.

Hi Oma, I bought the new FF 28-60mm kit lens with my a7C and also found it to be a good performer for its tiny size and variable aperture range. This APSC lens looks like a good everyday travel lens option for the 6xxx range. Your model was great: I love her energy- she doesn't need a blurry background to make her jump out of the photo!

Exactly, this lens fits in a certain categroy where the subject is more important than bokeh. I still did not try the 28-60mm lens yet

I bought my 6400 gently used with this kit lens for the price of just the body brand new so the lens was practically free and I've been really pleasantly surprised with how good it looks.

I am going on a weekend trip to Washington DC (it's a Honor Flight for Vietnam Veterans). Photography is not the main intent of this trip but, I do want to document my experiences. I want to bring only my A6600 and a single lens as an easy to carry combination. I purchased this 18-135mm lens because of its size and weight and fairly decent image quality. I am bringing a small flash for low light conditions. I purchased the lens used at a good price with the rationale that I can buy it, use it for the trip and then resell it, without losing too much money...

Hi Oma, I did buy the new FF kit lens with my a7C just to try it out and, like you, find that I will keep it as it as the image quality was better than I expected and the size is almost a pancake! The zoom range is pretty limited though. This one looks like perfect everyday travel lens for the APS-C cameras. I must compliment your model- her energy just jumps out of the photos!

I would defitnately go for the Sigma 18-50mm of you prefer higher image quality. The 18-135 is a great lens but a little bit more soft compared to the Sigma 18-50mm wich is also a midrange class lens same as the Sony G-series.

sigma conteporary lenses: 16mm f1.4/ 30mm f1.4/56mm f1.4 (I heard the 30mm f1.4 is the worst of the 3.

Exactely, look for a prime lens like for example the Sigma 16mm, 23mm, 30mm or 56mm f1.4 DC DN or a f2.8 zoom lens. I can also highly recommand the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 DC DN

I used to have this lens. And i loved it for the time being. It's a good affordable allround lens with an amazing reach. But since i have the Sigma 18-50mm i use this lens as a standard when using a zoom lens. To be honest, the Sigma 18-50mm has less reach. But i do experiance a better image quality and it has a solid f2.8 aperture. This is because the Sigma 18-50mm is a midrange lens wich you can compare with the Sony G-Series. The image quality of the 18-135mm is softer and it has a darker variable aperture.

still a decent alternative to the other bad kit lens, i would suggest this lens only if it comes with the body in the kit otherwise there are better alternatives...i got this with sony a6600 because for some reason this kit was only 50 euros more expensive than the 16-50 kit

for some unknown reason i found the a6600 with this lens only to be 50 euros more than the other bad kit, good for me i guess...still better than the other 16-50 lens i suppose
