To comment on the build quality: not only is it sealed, but mine has survived a drop (to my knowledge) completely unscathed. Agree with your conclusion. If Sony ever comes out with a line of 1.8 G(M) lenses, my wallet will grow quite hot haha.

Hey thanks for watching! Good to know it survived haha. Indeed I'd love to see them release more lenses like this.

@@andreas1701d true. But in like 5 years or so, if they don't come out with a 28/31/35/40 1.8 G(M), you not gonna get the 35 GM? I know that's probably my waiting time haha.

@@jamesvanderpool6079 to be honest, I'm quite happy with the Samyang 35 1.8 for a walk-around lens. Super sharp, super small, reasonably well made (though not G level) and weather sealed!

Hey thanks for watching! Indeed it is; optically the best lens I've ever owned by a mile, but not the most expensive 😉

Hey thanks for watching! Good guess, but it's in fact the Sigma 28-70 2.8... Quite a complement to that lens though if it looks like a GM 😉

Hi Andreas, greetings from Kenya🇰🇪 Your welcoming demeanour when explaining technical terms is really appreciated. I am new to photography and have decided to purchase the Sony A6400 and would like to ask, based on the SABCD tiered lens score video you made(Which by the way is the BEST format I have come across because of the visual hierarchy👊) what option would you recommend I go with? Body and 16-50mm Kit lens or should I get the body only and Sigma 16mm/30mm/etc.. I intend to use the camera for making vlogging content mainly like you do sitting in front of the camera indoors and also start experimenting with beach photography and some nightlife/restaurant with friends type shots? Thanks.

Hey thanks for watching, and for the kind words! I'm still very much learning so all feedback is greatly appreciated. For your uses, I think the Sigma 16/30 will serve you much better. The 1.4 aperture alone will make a TON of difference for nighttime shots and indoors. The kit lens is fine and you *could* get by, but it would require a significantly higher iso when shooting. As an example, say your exposure with the Sigma 30 is 1/50, f1.4, iso 1600. With the kit lens for an equivalent exposure, you'd be somewhere around f4.5 and iso 16,000 which will not look very good, especially in photos. The sigma 16 is excellent, but keep in mind it is a bit larger than some other wide angle lenses. If this matters to you, consider the Samyang/Rokinon 12mm f2 AF as your wide angle. It's a notch below the sigma but is really tiny & light and, at least here in Canada, comparable in price. Hope this helps!

@@andreas1701d Thanks for the clarification! I pulled the trigger right after your comment and expect the camera and the Sigma 30 to arrive in two weeks time. Keep up the good work 🤜🤛

@@georgekariuki8614 thanks, I'll try! Working on my audio this week 😉 Enjoy the new gear! I loved my Sigma 30s... I had both the 2.8 and 1.4 and they were my most used lenses on APSC.
