The best configuration to see dolby vision on sony x900f and the like. 1- download the latest android 9 update. 2- restore the dolby vision video settings to the factory settings. 3- go to advanced settings and set the local dimming on high and contract dynamics on low. 4- set the color temperature to neutral and set the color to 55. Last step set the creation of reality to auto to increase the detail in the image. Image quality will look like never before.

Sorry again, so many issues with the setup we got, randomly while playing games on my xbox the tv will just shut off...screen goes dark, no idea why, have to grab the remote and turn it on, checked the settings for eco mode and timer and both are off, what would you recommend?

Hi! I just left that alone. I have not tried an intel nuc as a media center. I'm pretty entrenched with apple so I had a Mac Mini running as a PLEX server. I think for streaming devices, people just want things to work, so I was disappointed with the Shield.

Hi! I have the 55" in the master bedroom and I use it for XB1X, TV, and movies. Overall it does a great job. It may have a little bit of blooming, but nothing crazy like some others have said. Also, I turn motion interpolation off, but if you like that this TV will look insane!

It’s actually a phenomenal performer. They added the X1 Extreme chip and it’s a fantastic TV for a great price. 55” is $1,100 and I think 65” is $1,599. There may be $100 off when BF rolls around, but don’t quote me on that! Lol!!

That's because this is in my bedroom and the Atmos setup is in the living room. So this Xbox is not setup for Atmos. It'll only say 5.1 because that's what the audio is setup for.

Thank you for posting this video. It really frustrating that you actually needed to however. I have wasted a ton of time messing with settings and multiple sources (apple TV, Xbox One X) in order to Get HDR10 and Dolby vision working on this TV. Unfortunately when I was setting up my TV I added an additional obstacle of turning on restricted mode so i could manage what kids are doing with the TV. When Restricted mode is enabled the HDMI input settings are not shown. Once I turned off restricted mode I was able to find and configure HDMI port 2 properly and now have Dolby vision working with Netflix, and HDR10 working for games. The next challenge - Dolby Vision doesn't seem to work when I play a 4k HDR Dolby Vision Blu Ray.... If you have any tips on that please share. Thanks again for the video and shame on Sony and Microsoft for creating this mess and massive time sink.

follow up comment - Dolby Vision is not supported for Blu Ray disks played on Xbox One X. Microsoft took the lead in putting 4k Blu Ray players in their consoles (which was the only reason I bought it instead of a PS4 Pro) and now I can't even play DV 4k disks in that thing.... Forcing the move to either buy the digital version of the movie or going out and buying a 4k Blu Ray player - I'll be bald by the time I get this all set up. Don't even get me started about trying to play 4k HDR content on the Optoma UHD60 4k HDR10 Projector... For anyone out there thinking about it - forget about it. HDR content looks HORRIBLE. non HDR 4k content does look great however. Ironically this upgrade project all started when I bought a 4K Dolby Vision Blu Ray last spring...

Hello Kyle! So sorry you're having all these issues. Since a lot of this 4K HDR stuff is still pretty new, things change rapidly and getting everything to work properly can be a big problem. For instance, my Denon X4400H just got an update and then a few days later I noticed while playing Call of Duty that HDR is not on. I went to investigate and it seems Denon had added a menu option like this one in the Sony TV. You have to go into HDMI settings in the Denon and change them to Enhanced mode. So strange they added this without telling anyone. At least you found my video so you're good to go, sort of...

Hi Lee!! I have had my OLED for two years now and have no burn in. I think it’s more a user error thing. You really have to be playing video games for like 15 hours a day and your Settings would have to be on vivid all the time to start getting burn in.

Looking for help...set up is 75inch X900F with htz9f soundbar, Xbox one x and Comcast box. Hdmi cable from arc input on tv to out soundbar arc, then I have my comcast box running through my Xbox via hdmi with the another hdmi out of Xbox into hdmi 2 on the tv. Hi! If you have the XB1X connected directly to the TV it should work just fine. But I think the only thing that works is DV on the Netflix app on the XB1X. Are you using a high speed HDMI cable? Are you getting standard HDR from the XB1X?

Hi! You can’t get DV from disc on the XB1X. That functionality has still not been squared away. You’ll need a Sony X700, X800M2, or a Panasonic UB820 for DV to work on your A9F.

I've got the 85 in your model. The lack of dolby vision support for the one x on disk media is frustrating. I agree with everyone elses assessment that I've read; the streaming services dolby vision is imperfect at best. The only Dolby vision I've seen look good are the demos at bestbuy on high end OLED TVs. Is it worth buying a new 4k player for the 85 inch x900f to get the dolby vision experience?

I originally got the TCL R615 (December ‘18) and DV/HDR looked stunning on it. When the X900F dropped in price $400 (January '19) I had to exchange it as surely the Sony $1000 more (additional cost) should blow the TCL away right? WRONG. DV and HDR on the 900F is super dim, dull, and total buzzkill. Don’t get me wrong though, the SDR on the 900F is absolutely stunning and I suspect the same SDR Demo at BB which made me buy it. But I will have to go back to the TCL unless anyone has settings to make the DV/HDR look closer to the SDR content this TV puts out? It really almost is literally night and day between the SDR and HDR on this TV…

Yeah, try that. If it works with just the XB1X and the Tv, then it’s the HDMI cable between the AVR and the TV or the AVR has an hdmi setting somewhere that needs to be switched.
