Great Intro: "Merry Christmas! :) Then, "Merry Christmas again. Merry Christmas to me indeed." Now what photographer wouldn't like that with a new lens! 😎😎

I switched from Canon gear and I was shooting on a 7D Mark-2 and a 6D Mark-2. As part of my lens lineup, I owned a 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS ii lens and loved it. However, I didn't use it all that much because of the weight and size! Unless I was planning to shoot planes or wildlife, I would generally leave it home because it was too heavy to carry. When I switched to Sony, I decided not to purchase the 100-400mm or 200-600mm Sony lens because I was sure that I would not get enough use out of either lens. However, the 70-350mm f/4.5-6.3 G OSS lens is reasonably light so I purchased one. My A6400 and this lens weighs less than half of what the 7D2 and 100-400mm lens weighed. Sure, I can only use this lens on a crop sensor camera but, I never used the Canon telephoto on my full frame Canon body. I always used it on the 7D2. The image quality and autofocus capability is very good to excellent and I am quite happy with this lens...

I'm currently in a similar situation like you, and I'm thinking of getting this lens for the A6700. Would you say the autofocus speed and accuracy, and the image quality is the same or better than the Canon EF 100-400 IS II USM lens?

It’s an apsc lens not a full frame lens as you stated. It’s a great lens for wild life and street photography enjoy it. 👍👌❤️

Hi, thanks so much for this video! I have the Sony A6600 and 55-210 lens so this comparison was great to see. I'm concerned about the heaviness of the lens since the 55-210 is so light, but otherwise love it (wish it was cheaper!). I agree, I'm not thinking of switching to full frame for a long time to come because I travel, and honestly, can't handle large heavy equipment. Thanks again!

This long lenses are very good for mountains ,I use them very often to concentrate my pictures.With wide lenses I am not so successful taking good pictures! Have a lot fun !

It's hard to do with a wide angle lens, so few options when you are faced with a big vista. Thanks for watching, Bernd!

This preview almost looks like a promotion video from the local tourist board, it's really beautiful with the drone images. So well done, and a lot of efforts in this honest preview. Btw. your workshop tool wall doesn't leave much space for an addition 😊

Really like the vibes of your videos particularly with the drone cinematics and your photos after :) also telephoto lens are my favs types of lenses, it gives a more natural feeling compared to something smaller than 50 or 55 millimeters

Nice review thanks! I had canon 400 prime before and it weighted almost 1.2 kg and no stabilization. So there is no tipod mount I think the reason is that having oss and lightweight makes it easier for hand shot and tripod not really required. I only worrie that 6.3 might be too dark, looking for a good deals on this lens now, and hopefully they will open Alps soon! Stay safe!

I'm just wondering why you don't switch to u4/3, the format offer: - great image stabilisation - super long reach (due to the 2x factor) with smaller lenses - a lot of options to choose between cheap, medium and expensive lenses
@aows4 жыл бұрын
I love the concept of micro 4/3! And how rugged some of those cameras are. But honestly, they are usually bigger than my APS-C cameras, almost as big (if not bigger) than some full-frame. And it'd be hard (or expensive) to get good and fast wide angle lenses. This is the reason why I'm thinking about full-frame for wide and APS-C for telephoto... not sure what to do.
@paolosoddu96424 жыл бұрын
@@aows i get the struggle Adrian :') For full frame you have the option of the original a7. 500€ used and still a great sensor. With your type of photography I don't think (based on what I've read and saw so far) you will feel the need for a better autofocus and things like that. BTW HUUUUUUGE fan of your work, I have been stuck without the inspiration, but man your approach makes me want to take a camera (maybe not my x100f with its fixed lens) a tripod and go somewhere. With a dog I don't have. I'm still waiting for the book to arrive eh! ;)

It depends.. I had a chance to choose 1 out of 3 at my local camera store and it's 80% sharp throughout its focal ranges. the other 2 copies were terrible though.
