Fantastic concise video.. Just bought a 2nd hand camera on E-Bay for 236 pounds including the kit lens.. realising there exists a time lapse purchasable app for this is just great.. Sooo excited to have bought this having lost ( left )my Panasonic LX100 in a taxi in Bolivia last year it is an opportunity to try a camera make that I have never previously used! Thanks Again..

Go to 'Custom Settings' > Tab 2 > 'DISP Button' then make sure "Histogram" is ticked. Then it should be available by pressing the 'DISP' button (Up on the menu wheel). Hope that helps!

Hi if you use Aperture priority mode and use a small aperture (for example the sony a5100 with the kit lens the smallest is f22) this should help keep all of the image in focus. Hope this helps!

Very informative video! I myself just got the a6000 for my future gaming channel and streaming. The only thing that bothered me in the video was that you dont look into the camera and probably into the flipup screen. Other than that it was fantastic!

I use the Sandisk Ultra (80MB/s) SDXC memory card and find it works well. You can get higher transfer rate cards (150MB/s) but they'll cost a bit more.

It's a *MILS* (Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera) Using SLR or DSLR is wrong for these cameras since the SLR acronym stands for "*Single Lens Reflex*", and the D in DSLR stands for Digital, where the Reflex part means it has a mirror mechanism to use the same lens, hence the Single Lens part, for both the film, or sensor, and the viewfinder.

Hi ,, good video .. I dont agree with you in the AF light ,, if you want to shoot in the dark at people who are posing OR a still object, it measures how much light is needed in auto settings and sets up focus. it should only come on in the focus stage, not the shot. A camera knows nothing in the dark until you show it whats its shooting at. At least for those of us not using manual settings and shooting at hot women on summer nights.. peace

Actually, those are not the best video settings for the camera. by switching to NTSC you can get 60p 50m. The camera is region lock and will always display a warning on startup but you can install a hack to unlock region and this will remove the warning, as well the camera will be able to record unlimited length videos.

The sony a5100 is a good entry level camera for photography and video. It's fairly cheap (especially second hand) I've been using it for nearly 3 years and I'm still happy with it.
