@@Qejee The 30mm is perfect if you do a lot of low-light photography. The ISO doesn't go up that much. Otherwise, you can do a lot with the kit lens.

@4:06 Man, sometimes you are just grabbing a quick shot - while in motion still walking - and the picture comes out CLEAR even at only 1/160 shutter speed. I'm amazed. I can't seem to get that on my ZVE10.

I also have the ZV-E10 and I can only agree with you. I get better results with the A6000 at a lower shutter speed. I don't know why that is.

Im still using a6000 paired with 15mm G lens. Very lightweight and discreet combo for street photography. No complains with no tochscreen + wierd screenratio display, No Eye AF etc. it gets the job done. Image quality was great.

At dusk, you're shooting in manual esposure, ISO 400, aperture F1.4. How did you know what to change your shutter speeds to?

To ensure that the subjects are sharp, you should always use twice the focal length. In this case, that's at least 1/60. Since I know that I'm also photographing moving subjects, I double that. So at least 1/125. Even higher would of course be better. But I didn't want to increase the ISO too much.

Meinst du, das Kit-Objektiv reicht für Lowlight-Aufnahmen oder sollte ich mir lieber das 30mm f.14 von Sigma dafür holen? Aber das ist doch kein OSS-Objektiv, oder? Wieso vewackeln die Aufnahmen bei so wenig Licht dann eigentlich nicht?

Vielen Dank. Ich denke für Lowlight wird das Kitobjektiv schon grenzwertig, trotz OSS. Da sich die Blende ja auch noch erhöht je nach Brennweite, ist das noch grenzwertiger. Bleiben wir mal bei den 30mm. Da bist du beim Kitobjektiv schon bei Blende 4.5. Du musst also die ISO so hochballern um auf dieselbe Verschlusszeit zu kommen wie bei dem Sigma. Und hoher ISO bedeutet Bildrauschen. Das Sigma hat ne Blende von 1.4. Das bedeutet es ist extrem lichtstark. Du brauchst weniger ISO und kannst mit dem Shutterspeed höher. Das ist der Grund, warum die Aufnahmen nicht verwackeln. OSS macht sich bemerkbar bei langen Brennweiten oder sehr niedriger Verschlusszeit. Und eine niedrige Verschllusszeit kann ich in der Street Photography ganz selten gebrauchen. Das 30mm F1.4 ist ne sehr gute Universallinse und preislich (gebraucht noch günstiger) absolut zu empfehlen.

Ich war grad kurz verwirrt, du meinst mit "hohe Verschlusszeit" wahrscheinlich sowas wie 1/500, oder? In meinem Kopf war "hohe Verschlusszeit" erst => lange Belichtung. Das stimmt, preislich ist die echt okay, da kann man nicht meckern. Dann werd ich mal bei Kleinanzeigen auf die Jagd gehen, vielen Dank nochmal! :)

hi there, great video. I stumbled upon your video in the search of A6000 night street photography and indeed this has been eye opening. Aside from the lens (I am using kit lens), are you shooting in auto modes like A priority, S priority or even Superior auto/intelligent? I often shoot manual to avoid jacking up ISO to 2k in auto modes but I hardly get good results at night. Cheers!

Hey and thank you very much. It is difficult to take good photos at night with the kit lens. Unless you do a long exposure. With the lens here from Sigma I was able to take photos in A mode and AutoISO without any problems, as the ISO rarely went above ISO1600 at aperture 1.4. Otherwise, as you said, it is advisable to take photos manually with less light-sensitive lenses in order to keep the ISO low. So for nighttime, I recommend a fast prime lens.

i pick up a 6600 with sigma lenses (16, 30, and 56 1.4 primes) with it and is wondering if i made a mistake rather going straight to the a6700 but for 1300$ for all plus other accessories its really hard to pass. what do you think about this camera a6600 for video specially and casual photos? thanks

For this price, it was absolutely no mistake. The A6600 is a top camera and absolutely top for video. And for photos, too. And then there are the good Sigma lenses. You can hardly get anything better. If you ever reach your limits, you can still get a good price when you sell it. You can always upgrade.

Hey, with the 24 MP sensor, that's 6000 x 4000 pixels in landscape format. I always use that because I always photograph in RAW.

The lens also works well during the day. But it is very bright for lowlight. If you only want to take photos during the day and rarely in low light, then a lens with F1.8 or F2.8 is sufficient

keep trying in Lightroom. The most important thing is actually the white balance. Either move it more towards blue or more towards yellow. The rest is just exposure settings and possibly reducing the saturation of some colors.

At the moment, 508 euros is a good price. But I would buy a used one. You can often get one for 200 euros. You can invest the 300 euros in a good lens.

is there a huge difference between sony 35mm f1.8 oss and sigma 30mm f1.4? in terms of low light shot capability. sigma has no oss but has better av, and sony 35mm has oss but slightly lower av.

The biggest difference is that at F1.4 you are one ISO level lower. For example, if you shoot at F1.4 with ISO 400, then at F1.8 you are at ISO 800. Otherwise there are no really big differences. The OSS might be very helpful in low light.

Hello, I can't say anything about Nikon. I've never used a Nikon before. The Canon M50 is good, I used to have that too. But there aren't many lenses for the Canon M system. But if you have enough choice, you will enjoy it. With the A6000, which has the same image quality as the M50, you have hundreds of lenses to choose from.

a6000 is ugly (IMO), a tad bit limited (no way to change display to evf to auto in one click for me), and for me edits on Sony are just hard to do, especially on this one; I think colors are poo-poo, but people and you included do great with it. And IMO it is noisy, but damn it is so small and pretty handy too! I've used it with Sigma 18-50 and 28-70 (ff kit) perfectly. I've switched to X-T30 for street and I'm way more happy with the edits and the results (I don't use filmsims and think they're weak). Also the noise on fuji is not that catastrophic and looks better IMO (I guess it's just a way newer camera)

I agree with you. The A6000 starts to get noisy much sooner. It's still pretty good up to ISO 1600. That's why it's important to work with lenses that have an open aperture. F1.4 helps a lot. At least in low light. The X-T30 is newer and has an excellent sensor. I also think the Fujifilm colors are better. It doesn't matter in editing, you can correct everything. But if someone wants nice colors out of the camera without a lot of post-processing, I would always recommend a Fujifilm.
