Mark...Do you have any tricks with Custom White Balance to get that cinematic "teal look" straight out of camera with no post color grading.

Technically the Orange and Teale effect is Split Toning which cannot be achieved by white balance alone as the effects of modifying the white balance to achieve the Teale effect in the mid tones and shadows would also impact the highlights and skin tones which Hollywood seeks to protect. Hi Mark. Could you share some tips on getting the most out of this model for wildlife, and especially birds-in-flight photography? The real-time tracking doesn't seem to work very well (it either readily jumps onto the background or if it grabs the bird, it often grabs the windtip or something else other than the head, even if you initially grab the focus using Spot S area, so very specific) for my BIF shots but perhaps I'm doing something wrong, that's why I wanted to consult a Sony expert. Thank you!

Sony don’t make statements to me or the consumers as to why certain manufacturing decisions are made. My educated guess is that there is a cost saving exercise going on as this is an entry level camera that will be purchased as much on price as it is on features. I don’t think it is an exercise to sell the Bluetooth remote as I am sure most A6100 users will just use Bluetooth on their phone with the Sony Imaging Edge App.

When the A6000 was released it was Sony’s premium APS-C camera. This is not the case with the A6100.

I just found out the a6100 does not work with my IR remote control - as my smartphone's bluetooth is unreliable. Argh !

Raw quality cannot be changed - the Megapixel count is 24 on the A6100

Check the mic is compatible with the camera -there are three different sorts of microphone jack.

It may have been one of the features Sony removed on their budget model. If you use a level a lot you could always purchase a separate bubble level the mounts to the Multi-Interface show (hotshoe) on the top of the camera.

When selecting an aspect ratio that is not 3:2 you are cropping the JPEG in camera and reducing the megapixel count. Change from 16:9 to 3:2 and crop in post.

The DRO setting (Dynamic Range Optimizer) also has an impact on the image presented in the Finder and on the Monitor. These modification have zero effect on Raw images being captured.
