These are the videos I love. you go in depth, you provide examples, and show tips in a real environment. This was probably the best hands on video I've seen concerning the A6300. I just got mine on Monday and I'm anxious to get out and shooting. My first real camera.

Throw away the kit lens and slap on a G-lens or a Zeiss lens to give it justice and to really bring out the power of the new sensor. Great work!

Is there a alternative to the kit lens while cost less than $400, has image stabilization, and does both close and long range shooting? Is there optic image stabilization on the camera? And can you buy a lens to help it with that for vlogging?

+Mike Luna (MXLXL) no, no built in stabilization like I said in the video. But there are a lot of lenses with OSS made by Sony. The kit lens that you can get has it as well!
@insider61888 жыл бұрын
Nice video. You'll have to try a faster lens with faster motor and see if the continuous focus improves. I think the kit lens could be holding it back. Still, 7 out of 10 not bad.

Hi Eric, nice video. :) Have a quick question, have you check how much hassle is it to connect and use the battery pack like the one you have for your smartphone?? As you know, you can charge your battery with it and keep using the a6300 at the same time and not have to change the battery at all. On my A6000s I can only change the battery with the battery pack but not use it as well. :)

Great video.... I can't decide between this Sony a6300 or the Canon 80D. Any tips? It'll be my first serious camera which I plan on learning more than just the basics. I'm mostly looking for an everyday/travel camera. I like the wider selection of lens through Canon but at the same time the size of the Sony makes it ideal for everyday use. 4k is not a big factor for me but it's nice to have and great future investment. Thank you!!!
@Eric_Rossi8 жыл бұрын
thanks Carlos! Personally, I would go the way of the Canon. I think its easier to grow and build on. Plus like you said 4K isnt a big thing, but in the future it will get cheaper anyway. But go to a local store, camera store or Best Buy and put both in your hands. You will like the feel of one over another

Great review! Might you have an opinion on which lens would be a good starter lens with the A6300: the Sony 16-50mm OSS kit lens or the Sony E35mm F1.8 OSS. Thoughts? Thanks!
@Eric_Rossi8 жыл бұрын
+MrMCBvideo comes down to which ever you prefer, for me I am totally fine with the 16-50. I like the wide and zoom option. 16mm is great because its a 3.5 and wider on the crop sensor. But if you want an all in one lens, with a 50mm ish look, the 35 is a good option as well
@Tnapvrvideo8 жыл бұрын
Thanks Eric. Have you tried other lenses besides the 16-50? I am wondering if the 35 might improve on your 7 out of 10 hit rate and get a better performance in continuous mode. Thanks!
@Eric_Rossi8 жыл бұрын
I havent tested anything else with the 6300 yet. Havent had a chance. But my guess would be that it would be similar because of just how these cameras react to a subject coming to and from the camera
@Tnapvrvideo8 жыл бұрын
OK. Thanks. I look forward to your future A6300 reviews especially if you get the chance to experiment with different lenses, flash, and audio. My wife and I thought your review was superb: very informative. You get right to the point, you show the camera and lens in use, and you offered a wonderful range of captures in both video and stills. Really Well Done!!! ...... I do wish they had included image stability in the A6300 camera body. I might have to wait for the next version (perhaps the A6500) and hope that they [1] include image stabilization in the camera body. My unsteady hands need OSS for hand held captures. I do feel that they should [2] address the fast battery drain and [3] the over heating concerns after 20 minutes of video. I think it's fair to say that over-heating concerns should not arise in a thousand dollar camera. It appears to be a great camera, however as a long term purchase, the A6300 raises these three issues of concern. If someone is looking to purchase a camera body for long term ownership and allow for some amazing lens additions in the years to come (i.e. the 24-70mm and 85mm Sony G-Master lenses), I am not sure the A6300 would be the right choice: my opinion only.
@Eric_Rossi8 жыл бұрын
thank you so much, I really appreciate the kind words. I put a lot of effort in this as I wanted it to be true and practical for anyone wanting to see real world stuff! Yeah the lack of in body stable and touchscreen is a bummer but for the price it would be much more. But keep in mind, most Sony lenses have OSS built in, even the kit lens that comes with it does. The overheating in my testing is perfect, it doesnt. But like you said, its not your taste and the money could be invested in something more your style!

The shake and rolling shutter is giving me worry for Vlogging & POV purposes. I've been told this cam is pretty much useless in 4k unless it's on a tripod. Were you capturing in 4k mode or 1080p?

Mostly in 4K and yeah it's not the greatest off a tripod

Thx Eric. I'd be curious to see how those type of shots change when captured in 1080p. I'm OK w/ tripoding cinematic type of shots for 4k, but if this thing brings in shake and rolling shutter at 1080p as well, then it's just not worth it to me...

mavfan1 Thanks for getting back to me on this I'm confident the a6000 is a fantastic camera and since video isn't the biggest deal for me I'm sure it would be more then sufficient for my needs, my only concern is perhaps the kit lens simply because I do a lot of low light photography secondly I'm on a $800 budget so no room for expensive lens upgrades in the near future
@Eric_Rossi8 жыл бұрын
Peter Vernelen you can grab the a6000 for like 400 bucks body only and spending another 200-300 on a 1.8 lens prime lens.

mavfan1 Perhaps you are right but would you use a 35mm prime as a all round lens? street, landscapes and an occasional portret not to mention video as I see it one would need at least a good prime and something with a bit of range to reach the camera's full potential

The only really plus over the a6000 I see is 4k and slow motion at 1080p. Any other big reason to pay another 500? I'm not going to get a sony a6000 (or a6300) until the end of the year. I know the a6000 will be down in price by Christmas and so will the a6300. I'm not an adult so I don't have a paying job to raise money. I'm swamped in other priority's (Boy scout Jamboree which cost over 4k) so will the a6000 be fine? I'm planning to use it for mostly photos not video but slow motion video sounds nice. Anything at 1080p is better than my nikon l810 point and shoot/bridge thing. Thanks!
@Eric_Rossi8 жыл бұрын
+Josiah Brown just comes down to your opinion. If you are mainly looking for stills I see no reason to spend 1k if you dont have it. But yes the 1080 at same frame rates are similar but the 6000 does have actually useable 4k so that has added value. The mic jack is huge as well. If you want video, 6300 no doubt plus the autofocus is way better over the 6000. If you just need stills with great hd video, the 6000 for less is your option. For video and better focus, 6300 no doubt.

Hey one of my favorite youtubers, Trainer Tips, uses the A6000. It and this one really interest me. I am a noob with cameras, but I would like one for vlogs and taking pictures, even for my gaming videos. The over-heating and battery life concern me. no lens can make a camera full frame. the a6300 is a crop sensor camera, a really good lens to look into is the 18-105 f/4.
@Qibilii7 жыл бұрын
I am really considering the a6300. The battery issue is kinda negated by the charge on the go feature, you can easily plug in a power bank to charge while on the move. That's unlike it's predecessor the a6000. I was worried about the ecosystem of the e mount lenses but doing a little research got my questions answered. They're a plethora of manual lenses that fall n the budget category. The native lenses are among the most expensive in the camera line, I mean it's SONY, they're known for being pricey.
@Eric_Rossi7 жыл бұрын
yeah and going with the 6300 is more of a video move as well. All depends on what you need.
@Qibilii7 жыл бұрын
I am still shot camera guy, I rarely shoot videos. I need a ll-rounder camera. Though that 4K feature is not necessary for me. I was considering the a6000 but the overheating issues, non-weather sealing body and the missing mic input jack put me off.
@Eric_Rossi7 жыл бұрын
Qibilii well theres no overheating with the 6000, the 4k video if the 6300 overheats. If video isnt an issue then you dont need a mic jack. If anything the 6000 may be the better choice.
@Qibilii7 жыл бұрын
The a6000 is $400 or more cheaper than the a6300, that's appealing enough for me. The minor upgrades in image quality is a small cost to pay with the 6000. Might have to get a GoPro (ThiEYE) action camera for videos. As for weather sealing, I can live with this little burden. The weak battery life of the 6000 is a snag though. Getting 3 batteries would fix this. All in all, I would be okay with the 6000.
@Eric_Rossi7 жыл бұрын
Qibilii the battery life is an issue with all Sony's. Actually the image quality is very similar, some even say, better then the 6300. You wont be disappointed!

Meh... Not really impressed with the a6300. I'll wait to see what they do with the a5100... otherwise I'm jumping ship to Canon. I can't stand the unreliability of Sony and horrendous battery life. Overheats and constant SD card issues across 3 different cameras. The other thing is that spec wise Sony cameras are impressive but usability is annoying. I find myself using cameras that are 90% of what Sony cameras are capable of simply because they're more comfortable to hold and have easier/quicker button/menu layout.
@Eric_Rossi8 жыл бұрын
+instantsiv I dont think they are going to continue the 5k line sadly. But yeah for professional long shooting work, I HATE the battery life as well. But the overheating thing isnt really an issue with this honestly. But I still love the dslr feel and reliability I get with it

no when you was standing stil the shake from your hands showed a very bad shaken motion in the background so i was asking if you was holding a stabilizer doesn't it help because on some cameras regardless of a stabilizer it needs stabilization in the lense or camera in order to use professionally so basically i wanted to know what's the best effective way to reduce to camera shake lol not when panning cause im sure the rolling shutter is bad
