This is fantastic! I've been looking all over for someone else using the a6300 with the Anamorphot. And specifically with the 35mm 1.8! I was wondering if you had any pictures of the setup? Did you need any step up rings/adapters to connect the 35mm to the Anamorphot? Also, how well does it handle? By that I mean, with the Anamorphot on the end of the lens, do you need to be very careful about holding it or using a special rig, or can it be handheld? I am planning to get this same configuration with the a6500 as I think the combination of IBIS, the 35mm, and the Anamorphot will be a powerful and portable filmaking combo! Thanks!
@darwinfish1058 жыл бұрын
There is a picture on the lower side in my blog. darwinfish105.blogspot.jp/2016/03/sony-a6300.html I used step up ring form 49mm to 62mm. It's light so you do not have to worry about handling.

Thanks for the quick response! That actually looks quite manageable after all. I think I'm going to have to go the same route with the 6500. I've subbed to you channel and look forward to seeing more of what you shoot with the 6300/Anamorphot combo. Cheers!

+darwinfish105 thanks, and sorry for all the questions. i just bought a BMPCC off ebay (hasn't arrived yet), and soon after discovered your graded vids with the a6300. when i run your "SONY a6300 Shinjuku" vid against your "BMPCC : Shinjuku" vid, the a6300 looks closer to film, even though the colors are better with the blackmagic 10 bit codec. is it generally your opinion that the a6300 has a more cohesive film-like aesthetic after grading? also, are you shooting mostly with the sony 35mm f/1.8 in the Shinjuku and Yokohama Chinatown vids?

I'm sorry, but contrary to what somebody said below, it doesn't look at all like something out of a blackmagic cam. There is no depth, no oomph in the color. It shouts 8 bits 4:2: 0. I think you all need to go back to Netflix, Amazon Prime and stream any movie or TV series and just watch the difference. I hate to do this here, but come on, people! You' are losing your landmarks!
@_trismegistus8 жыл бұрын
Everything you see on tv, netflix, and prime is 8 bit 420. Everything gets reduced to that for broadcast. Its not 8 bit 420 itself that causes issues, it's the color science of the camera and the grading that do.
@PhilippeOrlando8 жыл бұрын
+joeyisfunny absolutely NOT! Most of that stuff is shot with Alexa and RED cams at least 10 bit if not 12. 10 and 12 bits will allow much "deeper" grading than 8 bit. Once it's acquired at that bit depth of 10/12 bit the color is locked in and it will look much better than anything else you'll shoot with that a6300.
