One thing i really like about zve10 over a6700 is the way image / footage looks. It simply looks more cinematic/filmic on zve10 when compared to a6700 which looks more digital. Thanks for your efforts in making a detailed comparison.

I have used my friend's zve10 and tried slog3, what I find very interesting is when converting manually the color seems a bit weird, but if you convert it using davinci's cst or dehancer the footage looks clean and colors look crisp and almost the same as viewed with naked eyes. On top of that if you just increase saturation in slog3 settings to 20 or 25, and later bring it down in post. There is noticeably less banding visible. I feel if we limit zve10 to 500 ISO slog3 +20 sat and expose properly and adjust lighting, aperture just to remain in the native slog3 iso of 500, the footage that comes out is the best that zve10 can offer. And regarding magenta hue, I feel setting white balance tint slightly in camera improves it.
@alanbio9 ай бұрын
S-log3 never goes 100% well with 8-bit. Most professionals prefer using 8-bit with HLG2 or maybe HLG3, precisely because it may be hard to color calibrate a S-log3 in 8-bit. But glad to see that you found a work around.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the APS-C, especially with the ZV-10 for the client gig. I agree both cameras are generally good and give an excellent image quality. But the most important are the lenses and of course, the settings but the lenses make a huge difference. I definitely go for the Sigma 18-50 F2.8 for all-round and in low light, the Sigma 56mm F1.4 will be my prime lens for my gunpla content also it has some awesome bokeh and the image quality is sharper. In my opinion, the APS-C is really handy and easy to travel while the FFC is more expensive and heavy but the sensor is better. I think FFC is a little overkill plus the prices are ridiculous and with the APS-C you get really excellent image quality and the prices are quit reasonable. I'm still determined to go for the A6700 love the design and grip and it has 10bit. It give me more benefit and serve me for the upcoming 5 to 10 years. Great comparison! Thanks Joe!!! I am happy to be the owner of both bodies. When I'm out in the wild, I carry the A6700 with the Tamron 150-500 and the ZV-E10 with the wide-angle landscape option in my small bag. The ZV-E10 lags a little behind when it comes to tracking animals and birds, and it's also a little behind when it comes to rolling shutter. When I compare the number of photos taken per month, it's 50:50. However, I'm also a bit lazy when it comes to changing the 150-500. But when it comes to video work, there is no option. The a6700 has much more functionality, especially when it comes to wireless connection and remote control!

I have been using a Sony a6400 for a few years now, along with other cameras. I think that you reviewed the a6400, so you know that it is very close to the ZV-E10. I can understand you using Slog3 on the ZV-E10 to give essentially the same experience as with the a6700, and giving more consistent results between them from a grading point of view, but I would suggest that if you use a SV-E10 again, try using it with Slog2 instead. The grading and general experience on the SV-E10's 8-bit sensor should make it more liveable. It gives up some theoretical dynamic range, but then that dynamic range was not in the hardware in the first place, so really it is not a loss at all. I have not really tried Cine2 much because Slog2 seemed more predictable from a grading perspective. Maybe I'll try it again some day.

I have had a ZV-E10 for 1 year, then I decided to get an A6000 just for fun, because I found it for a bargain. Man, the autofocus on the ZV-E10 is insanely better than the one on the A6000. Is the A6700 really that much better than the ZV-E10? It’s not like the ZV struggles with autofocus.
@drdj26269 ай бұрын
I have both the 6000 and the ZVE10, I honestly can't tell the difference in autofocus. what I can tell is, photography-wise, I would not spend money on the 6700. both can do everything, you will only have to focu$ (no pun) on the glass, plus, if you are not doing any handheld cinema, the ZVE10 offers a lot (4K, picture profiles, flippable screen, a much better mic than any of the 6000s series) to your video productions. now, if you are really serious into filmmaking and don't wanna have to deal with any of the limitations of the ZVE10 (being the most severe its outrageous rolling shutter), I would definitely suggest you to buy a 6700, because that's what I would do if I could. the 6700 is like a perfect mashup between the 6000 (more like the 6400, but anyway...) and the ZVE10. it has the best of both worlds, plus a better sensor (with minimal rolling shutter), AI technology and a fresh updated menu. My 6000 is mainly for taking photographs, while my ZVE10 I use mostly for videos. yes, we can take pictures with the ZV just with a touch on the screen, but I'm sort of a a viewfinder kinda man myself, plus it became second nature to have both cameras in my bag, each pre-setup for its particular purpose. If I had the money though, I would definitely have only one camera for photos and videos, and right now this camera would be, without a shadow of doubt, the a6700.

Recently pushed to limits with some instructional videos (ZV E10 overheated several times with Sigma 16 in 85degree weather in Florida), as well as rolling shutter for my 1st wedding. Considering A6700, ZV E1, and FX30 for my second camera. Inclined to go with A6700 due to value and budget but due my recent experiences with aforementioned, concerned and feel like FX30 makes most sense in Florida weather and filming experiences. Image quality isn't everything. I think we can agree that any modern mirrorless can produce a good image, even the a6100. The difference is in those extra small features the a6700 gives you. Having the photo settings separate from the video settings, having an extra dial, having the viewfinder, 4k120, 10 bit, and probably more than I can't even remember. Obviously if you have the 2 cameras shooting the same settings at 4k24, they're going to produce virtually the same image, but it's not about that. It's about those small nuances that are improved in the newer camera. I love shooting on the a6700. Whenever I shoot with the older cameras, I'm always frustrated it's missing a certain feature or that I have to do an extra step, or accessing things in the menu just take longer, or the touch screen doesn't work how I want it to.

Anyone who is looking to choose between these two cameras would have all the information they would need to make an informed decision by watching this video. Great job. I hope you hit 100K subscribers in 2024. You really deserve a larger audience.

I guess the saturation on all videos with ZV E10 is better than the 6700 or you put wrong names in front of the videos. please reply, my purchase depends on your answer.

I have a ZV-E10 and it’s never ever disappointed ! Just looking at the features for the A6700, I think I may have to crank up to that sooner or later .

Since the new ZV-E10 mark 2 just came out. Do you recommend the Mark 2 or the A6700 for someone who just starting out?

I already own an a6600. I'm thinking about getting a ZV-E10 not for videography, but as a lighter, more compact landscape camera. I also own the Sony 18-135, and I find that it is a good all-round lens.

I love the 18-135. What an amazing lens. ZvE10 will serve you well!

Do this review again when the ZV-E10 mk.2 comes out. That should be a real horse race. Have to say, my a6700 is my choice of camera. It's much lighter than the A7R3 and the smaller lenses are also lighter. The Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 is a great and very sharp lens. It is a must have for aps-c users.

To get around Rolling Shutter turn the camera vertical. Zero Rolling Shutter in Vertical 😩🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Nice, thanks for the tip but then we lose all that side resolution
@fredfred97589 ай бұрын
@@thefilmalliance For landscape definitely use a gimbal and pust the stability on standard. I use a dji Ronin RS3 and I get zero shake issues any other smaller gimbal does not comfortably get the job done. RS3 mini or similar sized gimbal does not give rock steady smooth video performance with the zve10. RS3 is a must or larger as the motors of the gimbal are strong and give better performance in general. Almost 100% smooth footage and almost zero hint of rolling shutter once you know how to handle it.
