how come there is no purple hues in the shadows? I use A7III and I struggle with that

It depends on the shot. It's a common problem with S-Log2 on older Sony's, you can balance it out before the LUT or desaturate it.

@@cinematools I don't really create professional work for clients. I've been practicing in my room/outside the house with HLG-3 & Slog-2. I wanna do a car video in the future I shoot with either 4k/24 or 1080p/60. For the exposure i always overexpose 2stops. The basics really.

@@cinematools My workflow is really basic. I mainly shoot cars but I experiment in my room aswell. I shoot either HLG3 or S-Log2 IU709, and I do overexpose by 2stops. I don't do complicated coloring. I do have the cineprint16 which doesn't do well on a 8-bit camera so I use a lut sometimes. Thinking of trying the CinemaTools though!
