Thank you very much for this tip! Just did an interview for a friend and after downloading the footage, noticed half of the interview was not recorded. Whilst recording the interview, I also noticed the camera had turned off and found it weird as my temperature was set to high and no warning signs popped on the screen. This is so frustating! luckily it was not a paid job. I will definitely upgrade my sd cards. Thank you again!

Thanks! I just had a shoot where my main camera was set to HD and my secondary was set to 4k. Cam 2 kept dying on me because of this. I was also using crappy cards. If your having this issue check what your cam settings are!

I have two a7IV and using Sony Tough v60 cards. One camera can record for hours and with no problems (exactly same 4k settings) , but other a7, randomly stops etc. And not overheating.

Hey there, great video. I just bought the Sony A7IV and I am having issues with video recording in 4K 30. It stops after 5 minutes or so. And I get a warning about temperature too high. Needing to cool down. I'm not sure if that's for the camera, or the memory card? I am running the SanDisk extreme pro 170 mb V30 64-bit card. Obviously from your video the card probably needs to be replaced, but what I'm more worried about is that the camera is saying it's overheating, what are your thoughts? Thank you in advance.
@adamtalkstech Жыл бұрын
Definitely get the v90 cards I linked in the description. Also check my latest memory card video on the lexar cards those are working great too. Your issue seems to be more temperature related. If you get into the settings and turn off auto off from standard to high temperature that should help too.
@Anonomoss Жыл бұрын
@@adamtalkstech Thank you for your quick response, it's really great to have a video like this out there. So kudos to you for doing that. I found the temperature settings, and it was set to standard. I then switched it to high temperature. And then started recording in 4k 30 60m 8bit on my V30 card and it recorded for almost 2 hours and only shut off once the battery ran out. Which was a surprise. I think I'm going to get a v90 card just to be safe. Do you know if using a faster card like a v90 has any other benefits? If so ,what are those benefits? Thanks...
@adamtalkstech Жыл бұрын
@@Anonomoss The v90 card will offer a better sustained write speed so it won't bog down after recording for a while. Also much faster offload time when you are removing files and putting them on your computer. If you want to start recording in 10 bit then you will absolutely want the V90. so its just better to invest in them instead of the cheaper ones that you may eventually outgrow.

hey! this just randomly started to occur after a year of using a CFX card type A. And weirdly enough it happened right after updating my A7 IV to the firmware 3.0. now it just stops recording randomly after 3 or 5 or 8 or 15 minutes. Also the higher quality I record the faster it stops recording, but it's always some random times. Do you know if it could be my CFX card going bad? I don't have these issues on my V90 II SD Card 300MB/s

Shooting all day today with Sandisk 128 v30 cards in my A74- at the end of a 4 minute long clip (4K 8bit) the camera screen went black and the camera shutdown. When I went to preview in camera, the file wasn’t there- is this the card or a even dodgy/for the bin battery?

Hello, I have a Tough 128GB V60 card for my A7IV. I attempted to record a 30-40 min event this past weekend, but the camera shut off around the 18 minute mark. Do you think my card is the issue, or something else?

How old is it? Some of those with certain serial numbers had issues. I think the v90 really is key.

@@adamtalkstech bought the camera new a few months ago and the card was included in the bundle. I will do a couple more tests at home. Just set the camera temp shut off to "high". Maybe that was the issue. Thank you for your help.
