I started watching you when I was thinking aboug starting a youtube channel over the summer. I have over 5k subs in less than 90 days and it's only growing. I still have no idea what I am doing but your videos were awesome and helped me decide what equipment to buy. I am so happy I decided to give youtube a shot!! Thanks for your videos

Through 45 years both as a professional and as an alround hobby photographer, I have had many Cameras, Canon, Nikon, Leica, Minolta, Olympus, Minox, Hasselblad and many more, today I use Sony Cameras, the Sony A7RV are the best Camera I have ever worked with and I can highly recommend it !

This such fantastic demonstration of the Sony camera in its current A7R5 body -- amazing AF, Anthony. The dynamic range is unreal too. I am just curious, but which input color space and which color transformation are you using when you record in HLG3? I am struggling to get the colors right in my recent videos. Here are my settings: Input Color Space: Rec.2020 ; Rec.2100 HLG Timeline Color Space: Rec.2020 ; ST2084 1000 nit Output Color Space: Rec.2020 ; ST2084 10000 nit I would really appreciate the help. I think this video demonstrates the colors so well!

Great review, I like how you showed the effects different lenses have on video stabilization. If you are using the FX3 which is the cinema line, if I was you wait for the FX3 Mark ii. The A7rv is perfect for wedding photographers and a second camera A7siii for video because it's cheaper used.

Two things... glad to see you shooting with the 24-240. And the big issue you had with the r5 seems to be solved by the advert in the video (filmconvert). Shouldn't that be able to match your 8bit and 10 bit output? Thanks again.. .love the channel.

I was talking about the A7RV with a guy the other day..my conclusion was that when it comes to Sony it's always best to wait unless you desperately need something that comes with a new release, because they will always have another camera coming out that may be more awesome than the current release, depending on your shooting style. Also can't wait for TEM to return.

Hi there Would you please let me know what kind of sony camera is good for the video?
@sgpork Жыл бұрын
Yea. Camera is good. I got 1 since 2 months ago. Loving it so far but if you’re using cont af.. Be sure to use it with tracking wide/L/M or S. if you use cont af and choose to use The wide af… the camera can give alot false af. The green square can fall on the eyes but even with 1/500th subject just moving slowly. Sometimes it can miss focus alot. I dont understand why. Defintely not my lens or handling problem. Because when i switch over to tracking wide af. Everything got tack sharp. Is wide af a fraud on this camera? Haha.

One of these days people are going to learn the following: R-series = photo camera S- series = video camera No letter = hybrid. Then hopefully people will stop making reviews on the video capabilities of the photo camera and cover actual photo capabilities like: Pixel shift, buffer speed comparison between SD and CF Express, focus stacking, etc... Until then we will keep getting reviews like this that do a general overview of photo stuff and then critique video without diving into details that we really want to know about the photo capabilities.

You know what .. you’re absolutely right bud! You should go out right away and do your own review so us amateurs can see how it’s supposed to be done

@@DavidVKZbin when the camera shoots 8k and has an obvious hybrid screen and some of the best video capabilities on the market a video review from a video shooter not a photographer seems pretty standard. There’s plenty of photography reviews on this camera. Go watch them man

@@TheEverythingMan Hybrid screen? flip screen is helpful for not just video but photography as well. If you shoot portraits you can now shoot lower and higher angles while seeing the screen. Shooting at different angles is what a good photographer does. Flip is not just a video thing and tilt is not just a photography thing. The more you reply the more I am understanding your viewpoint though.

@@DavidVKZbin bro you are sooo wrong... I am a real estate and architecture photographer, and I came to watch this video looking for the "hybridness" of this camera. For me it its pretty obvious that it is a great photo camera, having the same sensor as the few year old a7r iv. So i am really interested on this camera to be my only camera that can capture stills AND video. As Anthony wrote, if you think that a camera with a flip screen (yes, its OBVIOUSLY a choice of videographers much more than photographers), 8K 10bit video and crazy good video AF is not for hybrid shooters, than you must assume that Sony is just plain dumb? We all dumb bro? 😂😂 Pure delusion 😅

I love this camera, but in the end, I didn't need (or want) the more megapixels and ended up with the a7iv (half the amount of mp to a7rv).
@markshirley01 Жыл бұрын
I thought the same as you, until I watched a few reviews that pointed out how useful the RAW modes were in medium and small. Plus I want the Tamron 20 - 40mm and having 60mm in crop at 30mp on the A7R5 from that lens really appealed to me. Also auto white balance and improved metering that can actually be used is big plus as I shoot manual with auto wb and auto iso all the time

It’s going to take a lot to move off of my A7SIII/FX3 combo. I also have the A7IV, so Sony has set its own bar pretty high. I feel like I don’t ever need a new camera again. (Of course, that won’t last!)

I know I say this every year but I feel like Sony is almost there on a 'perfect' hybrid camera. This is more photo centric as that 61mp sensor is not ideal for video. If they implement this flip screen on the A1 with updated AF and then improve the A1's 4K mode(give us some kind of downsample 8k to 4k like Nikon/Canon) then I think we really are close. Obviusly missing some other advanced video things that Panasonic has and the goal posts change every year but as great as this camera is I feel like those extra MP are not helping at this point. I always felt like 40mp-50mp is the upper limit. I mean heck the 36mp Sony sensor from a decade ago still looks amazing. It's in the Pentax K1 and it looks fantastic to this day.

So... this is what David Blaine does when he's not performing street magic? HA! On a serious note: love your videos and style. Thanks for the great videos and reviews. I do have one question about something that has really been bothering me lately: Love the nice blurry backgrounds... but with auto-focus on, you can see the blur (bokeh) constantly changing as the lense constantly changes micro-focus (usually as your head moves a little forward/back/side). I don't think focus breathing compensation has anything to do with this (focus breathing gives more of a 'zoom' effect around the edges). I'm assuming the only way of getting rid of the micro-bokeh breathing would be to manually lock focus, or am I missing another solution? Maybe I'm totally wrong about what focus breathing compensation can and can't do??
