Sony A7S Lens error invalid because lens not attached troubleshooting PT2

This is a Sony A7S that has the error "invalid because lens not attached" and i attempt to troubleshoot the issue. i try a hodgepodge test to try to rule out he ring itself. i probably should have just torn it down and replaced it.
