The price difference between the A95L and the other two TVs is even greater in other parts of the world compared to the US. Which makes it that much harder to pick the A95L over the G3 & S90/S95C.

@@MariaJose-nv3tjOk, but it’s not a fair fight because of the price difference. It would be like comparing a Hyundai to an Audi. Yeah the Hyundai is a good value, but if you could choose either of them for the same price the Audi would win most of the time.

Caleb, I just wanted to point out that you have an absolutely fantastic story telling. Seriously, it is so good, that I take that video to make notes for my job (cybersecurity) on how to break down complex topics to a degree that everyone can understand and follow. Not only are you able to break down hard-to-digest technical facts into an easy to understand manner, you make a storyline out of it that builds up in a perfect pace, not too slow to loose interest and not too fast to not being able to keep up, just perfect. Beyond that, you address every audience out there and provide a guidance so that no should be afraid to make a decision on buying a TV they were afraid about beforehand. Thank you so much, for this gorgeous presentation. All the best from germany

Great review, Caleb. I’ve got a 65” A95K. Had it for over a year, and it’s still amazing. If someone is into physical media like I am where over 100+ of my movies have Dolby Vision played through my Panasonic UBP-820 player then the Samsung (without Dolby Vision) would need to be ruled out because Dolby Vision often presents picture quality 5 to 10% better than regular HDR.

I’m glad you gave a shoutout to the Samsung S90C in there. Particularly at the 77” level, it seems there’s little performance difference between that one and its more expensive sibling. And at current prices, the 77” S89C is an even better value for an entry level OLED. There are things I prefer on LG and Sony OLEDs, but I can’t deny the pure performance to price value the S89C and the S90C bring.

I know I recently purchased the LG C3 77 inch. The price difference between the 77 inch G3 ($3596) and C3 ($2496) at current Amazon prices, honestly, I couldn't justify that much more price for probably barely a bit better picture quality. I think the C3 picture quality is damn good, considering it replaced a 65 inch 65 inch LG C8.

qd oled with its much higher color volume is much more useful for gaming atm (definitely noticeable) but in the coming years film will take advantage of its potential as well. a95l while also not having hgig, has been proven by vincent at hdtvtest to have updated processing to get it close and in some games even better (games that don't adhere to standards). the a95l also has the latest industry standard chip along with 6gb of ram instead of 3 (way overdue) meaning much longer lasting OS and support for apps. its a no brainer for any film enthusiast thats also an avid gamer looking for something long term. Someone like me though would choose the G3 in the hopes that in the coming years the industry adopts 120hz bfi again since brightness is now so high and fixes the one thing oleds severely lack.. Motion Resolution. Motion interpolation is also not a solution since it only guesses whats going on in-between frames which is a burden on the brain having to correct it, along with all the artifacting that comes with it.

@Sas-wk9lj

I respect that what you said, but in real world price may not always speak of quality. You need to spend some time with the TV to see if it can indeed match up your pre-conceived expectations in delivering the quality on which you're invested. Choosing among these 3 top oleds, they have their muscles flexing in some areas and can be weak in some areas vis-a-vis the rest in the top 3. It's a subtle trade-off you see and some subjectivity also to be factored in including brand loyalty etc that covers for any minor shortcomings. We humans know how to justify our investments even if they weren't worthy of what we spent. I'd personally go for S95C as it seems to be the best value vs cost , losing DV support of course.

This is a very good point you make, and I agree with it. I have viewed the A95K in person, next to an LG G3. I would be happy with either. The A95L will only be better than the A95K. I got the Samsung S95B at about the same time and I wish I'd gotten either the Sony or LG instead. Don't get me wrong, the panel is amazing and it looks terrific--but the software just sucks so much. I have an audio system connected to it, but about 99% of the time, the TV switches to its internal speakers on start up. I've been through Samsung's support forums and it's a known issue on a bunch of models with no word from Sammy on when or even if they'll ever fix it--three firmware updates in, they haven't so far. It also forgets it has an internal TV tuner about half the time and just refuses to decode a signal until you power cycle the set--another down issue with no fix in sight. Problems I bet you'll never have with your A95...I swear, if this thing didn't look so incredible, it'd be on the curb.

I don't know if it was sony or the shops, but they were just being stubborn and not lowering the price on the 65". The 55" got a nice discount at best buy, but not my size. Caleb you should talk about problems with these tvs that all people are going to notice without being video experts. Vertical banding for one in all 3 of these tvs. Once you see it in content you cant un-see it. Picture drop outs in game mode for the S95C. Sony lag on video processing that is causing lip sync issues when run through av receivers and incompatibilities with certain receivers like Denon. What motion processing are you using? I ask because the motion of the woman swinging on the hammock -- starting around 11:55 -- is significantly worse on the Samsung. IMO, the LG has the best motion of them all, and the A95k's motion is better than the A95l's.

5 year panel warranty, better pixel cleaning algorithms (see RTings), less probability of burn-in, Dolby vision, 4 full spec HDMI ports - make the LG G3 the winner for me. For serious viewing, my viewing room will be dark and the TV will be in film-maker mode, where the color saturation will be toned down. In that situation, QD-OLED's slight color luminance advantage will be extremely minor. Yes, I wish the G3 has the Sony's better processor, but the price differential doesn't make sense to me.

If your tv brightness is around 1000 nits you honestly don't need to care. Dolby vision is great for tvs with low brightness / dynamic range since it dynamically tonemaps scenes or frames. I did not go with the LG because of the banding, uniformity and pink tint issues and that was far more important to me. The LG panel lottery is a real thing.

I've been researching for a while now and I think I've finally decided on the A95L. After reading so many reports of the S95C having black screen signal loss for seconds at a time, the Samsung is automatically out. The fact that the G3 doesn't come with a stand, and apparently has really aggressive ABL, pushes me even closer to the Sony. I run all my devices through a receiver, so it only having 2 HDMI ports is not an issue. The biggest question for me now is, do I go with the 65" or the 77". I'm replacing a 75" QLED and as much as I love its massive size, there have been times when I thought it was a bit too big. My couch is about 7 feet from the screen, so maybe the 65" if the way too go. 🙂

I bought an LG G2 in 2022. At the beginning of 2023, I had hard-core FOMO seeing all of the innovations for both QD-OLED (new panel chemistry) and WOLED (MLA.) But after having watched this and ALL of those "other videos," seeing the new models myself in stores, and now knowing about the tech that will likely come out in the next 2-4 years, my FOMO is gone. I am enjoying, and will continue to enjoy, my G2. My room can be bright or dark at my discretion, and either way the G2 is sometimes eye-searingly bright, has great processing, and reproduces almost every color that exists in current content. So in learning about current and near-future tech, I won't look to purchase another TV until (1) there's a more stunning upgrade from the G2 available, and (2) technological innovations have become both more stable/reliable (like HDMI 2.1) and somewhat plateaued again (so there isn't as much FOMO a year after I make a purchase.)

I'm strongly considering upgrading from my 65" Sony A80J to a 77" Sony A95L. Between the three sets here, the picture quality is so close that your average consumer probably couldn't tell the difference in their home, unless they had all three side by side and professionally calibrated. What I prefer about the Sony OLEDs is the Acoustic Surface Audio. Combined with a compatible Sony sound bar (like I have with my A80J), the Sony's can use the actual surface of the screen as a center channel. The combination is pretty amazing to hear. For really small rooms, the Sony HT-A3000 works remarkably well, although the HT-A5000 is probably the better choice for most uses. If you have a large room and can swing the extra cost, the HT-A7000 is the King. I'm currently running the HT-A3000, but would upgrade to the -A5000 if I get the 77" A95L. Now's all I need is an extra ~$5,700 (but I'll wait until Super Bowl deals arrive).

@12:05 The biggest differences are actually skin tones and XR Clear. I personally like the Sony the most in that image but someone else had the same videos with all 3 TVs and was saying that the LG G3 or Samsung S95C looked better although the image on the camera didn't back that up. Also, reality creation and XR clear are important. I have no clue if they are turned on in this video and once you see soccer with low bitrate and reality creation, it's hard to go with the rest. No one has actually looked in depth at how these TVs improve bad artifacting in video games especially FSR that we are going to live with for the next 5 years. Unfortunately the current consoles render at very low internal resolutions when playing at 60fps and the images are quite unstable and noisy so anything the TV can do to fix it is a huge deal. In fact, Sony should come up with a console edition TV that supersamples not just to 6k but even higher to make the image better.

Sold a kidney and went with the 77A95L 😂 but only because I had a good time (more than 6 years) with my previous Sony x940e and wanted again a Sony because of this.

This is the ultimate, final, most sensible and the ONLY TV revue anyone needs to watch. Answering the question: "Which 2023 OLED TV that's best for YOU." After seeing this, I know I will be happy with my desisjon. Thanks for making this so easy for me!

Very interesting approach, a95l is very good set, but the LG G3 is the most complete package this year

Thank you so much for saying what most people feel. All of those tv sets are good. Far too many youtube channels get bogged down in tiny details that mean nothing to most.

15:48-15:50 the no mans land ditch walk scene looked VERY blurry on the sony and samsung and clear and sharp on the LG so that's my specific criteria for choosing lol. Even though i would love a backlit remote and not having to get a soundbar. Mostly going to be using it for streaming tv shows and movies but idk the brightness on the Sony looks weird to me (idk if its because its being recorded or not) but the LG just looks sharper even though its darker

AWSOME video. I was split between 3 and I went with the G3 because of the brightness and the 4 2.1 HDMI cables. There are no losers here just 3 #1 spots.

Caleb: I watch a lot of old black & white movies. Are any of these tv’s better at displaying black & white media? I’m in the market for one of these, currently leaning toward the Samsung. Thanks

my preference would be LG G3 = for gamers SONY A95L = for overall tasks(most expensive) SAMSUNG S95C= again for overall tasks(most affordable) Again for normal use even if you randomly pick any one of these TVs", you're not going to regret it ever so randomly pick any one which comes to your mind

I was almost going to buy a Samsung 90c but was hesitant since it didn't offer Dolby vision and was looking to get the sony A95 since I stream movies off an AppleTV 4k and I see a lot of dolby vision on disney+ and netflix. I just cant decide?
