Having used several budget earbuds from Soundpeats, Anker(Soundcore), 1More, and Edifier, I consistently come to the conclusion that Edifier has the brightest tuning with better clarity and tighter bass translating to the widest soundstage and best instrument separation. Anker has a stronger bass that still stays focused but not the best high frequency audio while Soundpeats usually have a deeper albeit mushier bass and murky mid range. 1More is similar to Edifier with good focus and balance but less agile making them sound slow or delayed when directly compared to Edifiers. If I were making comparisons to "major" brands, Edifiers actually sound like AKG or B&Os, Anker has some similarities with Bose and Sony, Soundpeats are kinda like Dr. Dre or any other pop focused brand and I guess that makes 1More the Sennheisers of budget earphones.

@@Christopher-nl2kbI bought both the Cleer alpha and the WH950NB during christmas The Cleer alphas spatial audio doesn't surprise me, the Edifier sounds more spatious, while the Cleer feels more squished together even with spatial audio The signature of the Cleer alpha is warm, and it's nice for neutral wired listening, after Eq'ing for a bit, they still sound warm The Edifier sounds more clear and more detailed in wireless mode, and are overall more comfortable and lighter, while the Cleer is better built but squeezes your head a bit The noise cancelling feels like a Tie between the two, I'd say the cleers win in this category The Edifier, for being cheaper, sounds better, are more comfortable, and has better sound staging, while the Cleer has better build, but are heavy, and noise cancelling

Those look more like the WH-1000XM5's than the actual XM5's. What I mean by that is they look a lot more like a successor to the 1000XM4's than the real XM5's do. I expect the edifiers to sound better than the sonys. The sony's atleast my pair sound particularly boomy. Honestly to much bass, makes them super fun but they are really nothing to write home about in terms of sound quality. However, Sony's noise canceling is still the best I've heard and I feel like it would take a pretty big brand to catch up to Sony/Bose/Apple in terms of noise cancelation. Only reason apple could play catchup (mind you they aren't quite as good on the over ear space) is because they have substantially more money to throw at it.

How they do better than the Edifier stax Spirit s3, which I've got. They sound great and battery is great. But buttons are terrible. Takes 14sex pressing now to turn them off (quicker to insert the 3.5mm cable and take it out-that causes the headphones to turn off). App is terrible. Even when the headphone is Bluetooth connected to my phone the app won't recognise something is attached most of the time which makes different audio options in the app pointless (an app update would have been nice, though it does seem to take more liberties with data than some headphone apps). The app started sending out spam in Chinese. And the widget doesn't appear to most of the time. Call quality is ok as long as you're in anywhere with any slight wind. But if you're sat still, don't mind the earpads, are happy to leave them switched on and don't want to switch between the different modes then the stax spirit s3 sound good. It's put me off any Edifier products.

They look nice. My question is what are the guidelines governing whether or not something is "HI-RES certified"? I feel like this is marketing jargon to bait the uninitiated and that there's not a lot of substance to such a certification. Moreover even if there is substance to the HiFi badge- such clarity in audio is severely compromised when using noise cancelling and or not being in a quiet environment to truly hear that clarity which I feel is the case for most consumers. Lastly why can't we just bring the damn cables back? 99% of these true wireless headphones are destined for the landfills within 5 years and will probably end up in Agbogbloshie or some other e waste dump filled with toxic gasses, chemicals, and people of all ages picking through our garbage or at least have EOL provisions to rid of our luxuries in a reasonable manner. If we can afford $200 headphones we can afford the extra $10 fee to have it responsibly processed. JS
@zugo-tg7125 Жыл бұрын
