Sony Pictures a decade ago, which led to the little blue characters making a leap into a live-action/animation hybrid series of movies that began with The Smurfs in 2011 and continued through The Smurfs 2 and Smurfs: The Lost Village which marked their last movie appearance in 2017. With the rights having now moved to Paramount, the studio announced last year that they have several plans to reinvigorate the franchise with new movies and a continuation of the CG-animated show on Nickelodeon. And it will open in theaters February 14th 2025

Besides the Spider verse trilogy being a favorite of mine, my heart is making me give full credit for The Emoji Movie being my #1 favorite with 2nd place for The Mitchell’s VS. The Machines and Third place for Angry Birds Movies 1 and 2. P.S. If The Emoji Movie had a sequel it’ll be called “Emoji Movie: Take 2” and would make fun of it’s failure which it shouldn’t have deserved at the box office in the first place. I think that would make a cool idea when we see our legendary “meh” and his friends on the big screen again.

I hope this isn't inappropriate being almost unrelated.. But I literally came by to mention a moment of inspiration I had. Because I know Sony Pictures Animation has made some incredible features. I also happen to know there was going to be a Popeye movie, but that's not what I'm doing here. I think the next big movie they should do, if they're ever doing something that's already a pre-existing IP, it should be Inspector Gadget. I mean just think about it. How extreme you can make the animation for a 100% wacky mechanical man truly be!
