What are thoughts on Sony’s new ES line of receivers?

Can’t make that claim until you’ve heard it my friend. 😉

I try to reserve judgement until I experience it myself 🙂 I’ve never heard any of their ES receivers until I visited their press event in Austin. Their 360 spatial with music actually sounded really good.

I actually preferred the sound of my Sony £400 STR dn1080 for two channel audio listening than the £2,000 Denon 6500 😄 The sound of Sony he will always have a place in my heart 💚

Hope they are coming soon to Europe, waited long for it and exited about the 360 calibration..

I’m excited as well to see where the 360 calibration goes. I only got to hear it with music but it sounded really good.

I have a 5.2.4 system so the 5000es would be oke and curious how atmos sounds with this receiver also using the height speakers an how much. My setup sounds great, but only in the sweetspot, on the sides it's not so great...

What software is the second salesman talking about? I have zero tech language knowledge and just want to know if whatever he is talking about is built in to the ES receivers or do you have to pay extra?

It’s called OVRC and works with control4. It allows for custom integration. And Yes it is built in to the receiver. However I believe control4 is still a paid service. While its integrated you still have to go through a custom installer
