The win here is the glossy screen. A80j, a80k, and a80l have all been semi-matte at the 55, 65, and 77 inch size. Only the 83" varient of the 80 series have been pure glossy. Its the reason i still preffered LG. A95L and A90j have always been glossy. Their top tier TV has always been glossy but theyve been handicapping the 80 series with that disgusting matte finish. @@Yoga_Tv_buying most of that is external factors that can be controlled like lights and or bias lighting which can allow the eye to relax and see better contrast without too much eye strain. You can also have presets like Cinema home instead of Cinema. Without that said LG and Sony also allow HDR10 content to be played as well as HDR10+. You can also have an external media player or disc player that can force various options to have a better more personal preference in how the player led mode handles bright or dark elements for Dolby Vision. The difference is you have options vs not supporting it at all.

i think i liked it and going to buy. now i have xh8096 and it is bright enough, and bravia 8 is brighter as i see in tests. and it has newer version of Google TV which i like. My TV now outputs much nicer picture then i saw on my friends Samsung and chinese TVs and Bravia 8 outputs even better picture and has even more vividness which is already enough. I don't know what more could I ask. And if it lacks something comparing to competition it's not visible to a naked eye. And in my region it costs a bit cheaper. I'm talking about 55 inch - maybe this is important. So I consider this is solid choice for me. I also have PS5 and no TV SET BOXES, no Rokus and other stuff so i need only 1 HDMI. My sound outputs via optical.

Four HDMI 2.1 ports probably coming to SONY higher end TVs in 2025. Existing Pentonic chips are limited to two HDMI 2.1 ports for use with game consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The Pentonic 800 (already announced) will support HDMI 2.1a, which supports Quick Media Switching (QMS), although there is no mention specifically about QMS. MediaTek says that the Pentonic 800 SOC "supports up to 4 high-speed video/audio input interfaces" but it is unclear exactly what the company means. IMO it will feature four HDMI 2.1 ports this time, as Sony & a couple other TV manufactures have gotten lots of grief for not having four HDMI 2.1 ports

I originally thought this was gonna be a repeat of the A80L and I was impressed with its display honestly. When this goes on sale, it’s a straight upgrade for my x90K. I recognize the C4 is technically better, but I prefer Sony’s processing, and the operating system far above both LG and Samsung.
@LukeLXIV
@LukeLXIV 17 күн бұрын
I really don’t think the C4 is the clear win for gaming - I actually think most would prefer the Bravia 8. The C4 loses a decent amount of brightness in both SDR and HDR game modes, which means visuals won’t pop/impress as much as they would on the Bravia 8. I know you guys listed this in your comparison slides at the end, but I’m really surprised it wasn’t discussed in the conclusion. There are WAY more people out there with just one of the latest consoles (so HDMI port limitation not an issue) and who are also not going to be remote sensitive to the ever-so-slightly worse input lag. If gaming is not a factor, sure the C4 is better value. But for mixed usage including gaming, I actually think most will enjoy the Bravia 8 more.

Exactly, that’s why I passed on this tv this year, not that it’s too expensive but it’s overpriced for what it offers. Sony would be somewhat justified in the price if this was a QD OLED starting at maybe $2000 max and just made it a step down from the A95L, that way it would’ve been a direct competitor to the S90D/ and S95D in some cases, and all LG OLEDs except the G4 would’ve been in trouble too. This model would’ve sold out and that way they could have eventually cut the price on the A95L overtime and still make profit. Sony needs to rethink their sales strategies

" Does it interfere with your TV Viewing ? " The Next issues were the Remote,2) The volume Button Sticked on the One that came with the TV When I called Sony That took 3 months just to get them to send me another one And that was Like Pulling Teeth. Then the One they sent me the Mic didn't work. So I called Sony Back and told them that problem and they refused to send me a replacement, I was told That they didn't Make a Remote for that model TV. I sent Pictures of Both Remotes that say SONY right on the Bottom, I was then told that was an Aftermarket remote. So I said to them So You are selling After Market remotes with your NEW TV's. What are you taking about bubble was the LCD screen bubbling was there a physical bubble you could touch. The remote thing if the buttons are sticking you probably got dirt down in the remote you could have taken the remote apart and cleaned it or a simple Amazon search you could have bought a replacement. I don’t think you were being very clear about the screen thing you said bubble you have to be more clear did you take a picture of it or a video to send off and show Sony you took pictures with the remote why not the tv as well. Did you buy extra warranty if there’s a defect take it back to the store you bought it at if the screens doing weird things the warranty well cover a screen replacement or another tv. I’m not saying you’re not allowed to be upset but before blaming a company why not try these steps first.

Not going QD-OLED was a fail for sony. Year after year we all tell them their ports are limited. Calibration wise they always pin white balence across all formats on a given hdmi port. This makes it impossible to calibrate more than one format per hdmi port, further lowering its value. I'd just go on a payment plan for the A95L. Because atleast that picture is significantly better. I hated the nod at elden ring but another fair review.

Up until a few months ago I sold Sony TVs on the weekends in Best Buy. I can tell you that gaming is a huge focus for TVs now. I was able to sell several 43" X80Ks because they were the most reasonably priced 43" TV that supported VRR. Typically RTings rates the LG C series OLED better than the Sony Peer of the same year. It almost always comes down to price and gaming performance. With that being said, looking at the RTings reviews of the C4 vs the Bravia 8, I would prefer the Sony. Reason being that Sony still does a better job in upscaling. I watch a ton of older content, much of it not remastered to 1080p or 4k. It just looks better on the Sony TV.

@@sonic_genesis Doesn't make it any less of a bald faced lie. And it's poorly defined anyhow. It’s only coined infinite because contrast ratio is the (brightest white / darkest black) in luminance and if the luminance of the darkest black is 0 then you see where the issue is (dividing by 0) Maybe it’s better to say contrast is ‘immeasurable’ but that wouldn’t sound as cool
@thenonexistinghero

@@chibbyylol And I'm saying that's a complete lie. OLEDs do not have 0 luminance (or 0 nits for that matter) and the contrast is perfectly measurable. There used to be articles on this, but it seems like they've been buried deep down and hard to find now thanks to the OLED lobbying companies. And professional channels like this also used to mention it, but now they've fully bought into the lie (or have been brainwashed into believing it).
