@kandoundou233 ай бұрын
@@thomaszeh2577 The picture quality of a TV is influenced by several factors, including the processing technology used by the manufacturer. Sony TVs are known for their advanced picture processing technology, which enhances detail, contrast, and color accuracy. This processing helps to create a sharper and more realistic image. LG focuses heavily on perfect blacks and excellent contrast due to OLED technology, which provides a different but equally impressive picture quality. Whether a Sony TV or an LG TV looks better can depend on personal preference and what aspects of picture quality, like sharpness, color accuracy, or contrast you prioritize. Could you provide a guide on how to calibrate a tv?
Whys reviews never mention specs of the OS? Like the OS is a huge part of the TV and knowing the specs and speed will give you an idea of how smooth itll feel in years to come. Just having "It feels smooth" is not a good review. You could say the same about a £40 fire stick and a £160 nvidia shield google tv box, but are they the same? Not even close. Just like when buying a fire stick or shield we care about the specs and memory, so why not mention it here?image quality is great but if the tv gets laggy to use then the TV is trash, and this applies to many of your top recommended TV's after a year. The bravia 8 google tv has a very high end mediatek pentonic 1000 orocessor with 4 or 6gb memory i think, thats well beyond almost every other tv and i think faster than a shield in cpu tests. It adds so much value to the tv knowing itll be fast for 5+ years instead of 1 or 2. Some tvs youve rated high are slow to use within weeks but it accounts for nothing apparently. Even if its not counted in your score please at least mention the OS specs of the TVs, flash them on the screen for 5 seconds.

Sonys like the only ones who dont have a bunch of issues. And i love lg. if i could game in game mode without needing FMM on the g3 i would have gotten that tv.

Something I've always wondered. How much manufacturers save by not making all HDMI 2.1. 100 dollars? More, less?
@Heliosvector4 ай бұрын
Way less but they have a contract with the manufacturer of the chip that makes that component that doesn't expire until maybe next year. Do even if there was a chipset out there (there is) that can have all 4 be hdmi2. 1, they won't use it because they technically have already paid for the lower chipset up until 2025 probably for the deal that their chip orders cost less for however many years they made the contract for

Four HDMI 2.1 ports probably coming to SONY higher end TVs in 2025. Existing Pentonic chips are limited to two HDMI 2.1 ports for use with game consoles such as PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. The Pentonic 800 (already announced) will support HDMI 2.1a, which supports Quick Media Switching (QMS), although there is no mention specifically about QMS. MediaTek says that the Pentonic 800 SOC "supports up to 4 high-speed video/audio input interfaces" but it is unclear exactly what the company means. IMO it will feature four HDMI 2.1 ports this time, as Sony & a couple other TV manufactures have gotten lots of grief for not having four HDMI 2.1 ports

I really don’t think the C4 is the clear win for gaming - I actually think most would prefer the Bravia 8. The C4 loses a decent amount of brightness in both SDR and HDR game modes, which means visuals won’t pop/impress as much as they would on the Bravia 8. I know you guys listed this in your comparison slides at the end, but I’m really surprised it wasn’t discussed in the conclusion. There are WAY more people out there with just one of the latest consoles (so HDMI port limitation not an issue) and who are also not going to be remote sensitive to the ever-so-slightly worse input lag. If gaming is not a factor, sure the C4 is better value. But for mixed usage including gaming, I actually think most will enjoy the Bravia 8 more.

Not going QD-OLED was a fail for sony. Year after year we all tell them their ports are limited. Calibration wise they always pin white balence across all formats on a given hdmi port. This makes it impossible to calibrate more than one format per hdmi port, further lowering its value. I'd just go on a payment plan for the A95L. Because atleast that picture is significantly better. I hated the nod at elden ring but another fair review.

Exactly, that’s why I passed on this tv this year, not that it’s too expensive but it’s overpriced for what it offers. Sony would be somewhat justified in the price if this was a QD OLED starting at maybe $2000 max and just made it a step down from the A95L, that way it would’ve been a direct competitor to the S90D/ and S95D in some cases, and all LG OLEDs except the G4 would’ve been in trouble too. This model would’ve sold out and that way they could have eventually cut the price on the A95L overtime and still make profit. Sony needs to rethink their sales strategies
