The SONY BRAVIA 9 has finally arrived! We are taking a look at the 65" XR 90 today at Value Electronics. We will do a quick unboxing , set up , and settings, and we will demo all presets on a variety of content. We will finish up with some gaming on the PS5. We will review the 85" Bravia 9 next week. The slinging fire demo blows me away. I don’t see the backlight struggling to keep up and the blooming is very minimal. I could live with this. Can’t believe how bright those flames get. We have a winner!

I didn't even see blooming in this entire video. I mean if it happened, I didn't even notice. Because any blooming would show a slight blueish hue. I suspect some think that blooming was seen in some fire scenes because it lit up the area around the flames. But that isn't blooming it's apart of the picture effect. A bloom would be tiny hue of blue on these panels, which I didn't see at all. That said of course the TV will have some minute blooming on occasion it's not an OLED and it's not "Magical". But it's damned good.

I gotta say its quiet tempting (for an mini-led) ... almost no trace of blooming, Sony processing, acoustic surface+ audio, great looking game mode, back-lit remote and most important, no worries of burn-in. Yet, still too pricey. Lets see how it holds up come tv shoot-out in late summer.

This will be good. And important because it could be that the 75" has slightly fewer dimming zones for it's screen size than the 65 and 85. Would be interesting to see if it has any impact at all because of it. Or if it looks the same as for example the 65" which looks amazing.

Beast Mode. Sony goes Warp speed baby. Great intro for the Bravia 9. I love my A80J but it is only 3 years old so I'll just have to covet this magnificent TV Mini-LED for now. It is so amazing that it is as close to an OLED and obviously much brighter with all the processing, upscaling blah blah blah to be had. I’m watching this on an a95l & have to say it the 9 looks so near I’m very impressed Not here to start an argument but I’m glad I went for QD oled as I’m love with it but I understand why Sony is making this… The amount of top features they have continued in this model are a testament to how good they are & I have them so I know it’s not all marketing speak Oh boy do I love my a95l but this new one looks amazing too, guess there will be some lucky enough to have both!!

I'm watching this on an OLED laptop that matches the iPhone 15 in brightness full window and I've never seen anything like the Bravia 9 in all the videos I've watched. It reminds me of my Sony TV with 3d glasses on. The brightness of the sun next to the bridge was blinding and I know I'm only seeing 1,000 nits - it's much brighter on the 9. The contrast is amazing. But the depth is all I see. I really have to see this TV in person.

For those people who prefer LEDs, the Bravia 9 is definitely a leap forward in terms of contrast, but for fans of OLED, it doesn’t mean much as OLEDs continue to get brighter and more efficient. Now, if Sony brings the price of the Bravia 9 down to the midrange of premium OLED TVs (Bravia 8, C4, S90D), it can be more competitive because of the extra brightness.

I have to say, I turned my nose up at first when I heard Sony was going with mini-LED instead of OLED, for their new flagship. Not that I'm in the market for a flagship TV anyway.. But that said, I did recently pick up a 75" Hisense U8K on clearance, upgrading from my five year old 65" Samsung QLED. I am so astonished with the U8K, I can understand Sony's choice now. My U8K has amazing brightness, color and deep blacks with virtually no bloom in any situation. Even with this, I have zero regrets about not spending 2-3x on an OLED. A Bravia 9 should blow my U8K completely out of the water, if such a thing is possible.

G4 will be more 3 dimensional than Bravia 9. Also reflection handling on G4 is superior as VA panels are spreading reflections horizontally making it more distracting. Bravia handles it probably best I’ve seen on LCD so far but still I prefer G4s no doubt. So unless you need 85” - G4 will still have upper hand. Remember that movies are meant to be watched in light controlled environment. For that 1500-2000 nits on G4 is bright enough. Even in SDR content G4 is bright enough. Only full white content like ice hockey would look dimmer.

Settle down. In a few weeks, there will be head to head comparisons. Personally, I just bought the 75 in Bravia 9. This is after I canceled the G4. The price differential was too great for the trade-off. The Bravia will be just as good as the G4 in my opinion or even better and some aspects.

I wish this would’ve came out in 55” It would be my replacement to the A8H as it’s starting to show its age, I don’t think the Bravia 7 will cut it as far as upgrade from the A8H, I might have to look at an overpriced A95L in the 55”

I personally didn’t care for the 7. Bad off angle viewing, motion handling was not good IMO either. I had hoped for the xr90 in 55” size as well. Such a shame that some manufacturers are unable to produce or don’t want to produce these sizes. Same with qn900d i believe.

goes Bravia 8 is also OLED and is an update to Sony's OLED series 8

Demons Souls, Tsushima, Returnal, and Tekken… You have very fine taste. Trying to decide between a Bravia 9 and an LG G4 (or M4 if it ever comes out) I love OLED - but the Sony is a bit of a pleasant surprise this year!

I was soooooo looking forward to this but Sony made one MAJOR mistake, no 98" version or larger. I'll have to pickup the X90L instead. Really is a bummer.

The 65'' will have the best picture quality because of higher pixel density on a smaller screen (65) compared to a 85" screen

@@Freakyguy666 You mindless fool the smaller the screen is the higher the pixel density and therefore the best picture quality out of all screen sizes with the same resolution. This is an objective and irrefutable fact. It has nothing to do with the distance. The screen with the highest pixel density will always have the superior and sharpest / most detailed image. Again it's simple logic

@@DarkoBert-ob6yr why do you insist on proving you have no clue? 😂 The SLIGHT DIFFERENCE in Pixel density is irrelevant at normal viewing distances even with someone who has 20/15 vision like myself…in fact you could have a hard time deciphering a 1080p image from a 4k image from a certain distance …what IS highly VISIBLE & NOTICEABLE from practically ANY viewing distance is BETTER BLACK CONTROL & VIBRANCY….in fact many of the B9’s attributes will likely be significantly BETTER on the 85” vs the 65”-but PLEASE keep reinforcing your ignorance as the laughs at your expense are PRICELESS! 😂

What bothered me is the unboxing. I am pretty sure you can use the foam from the sides as a stand to place the TV in so you can place the stands on the TV. Love the TV.

@FlamingLinwood they actually all can do it now, my friend . At least most premium tv's. If you remove the middle Styrofoam, the tv cam hover there, and the stand can be added .
