Great review and happy new year you, Brian! Sold my U8N towards a Bravia 7 65 inch on aale for $1299. Much better TV than the Hisense even if the stats say otherwise. Tried and True Sony>>>Upstart Chinese manufacturers

Sony is the master of local dimming algorithm & knows how to manage the backlight system. The Chinese companies haven’t mastered that yet…

I honestly can't see a single scene where the hisense looks better. It has this over saturated feel to it. All the scenes with colour detail completely lack colour depth and detail. It doesn't look like a bad TV but all these commenters favoring the Hisense quite frankly havn't got a clue what they are looking at. A bumble Bee isn't just one shade of orange ladies and gentleman. The real key thing to remember here as well is that this is HDR 4K content designed for demonstration purposes, imagine TV broadcast signals. Trust me, that's when the Sony will shine. Go to a store and put NFL on KZbin and put them on the same picture, you would never chose hisense. Stop coping so hard.

13:05 is a great example if you want to look for yourself. 14:07 spider, the hairs on the legs So many scenes just look so much better when you factor in the reality of the world.

Looks like Sony's tv production just counts its days and Samsung and LG will soon take their place as irrelevant players (perhaps in the LCD segment for now).

Watching these both in stores, the Bravia 7 has more noticeable blooming than the Hisense u8n. Sony is not worth their tax anymore, they used to be. But now the competition has caught up and the $1000+ difference is no longer justifiable

I’m noticing in a lot of comparisons to the Bravia 9 doesn’t seem to crush blacks as much and generally shows more detail in extremely dark areas on the screen.

The UN8 is nice but there’s just something special about a Sony picture. And this is from someone who used to be a Samsung guy before they started with all that color saturation. But come on Sony 2 hdmi 2.1 ports need to be extinct! Question for you Brian did you move? Just curious since you used to do most of your reviews from your basement.

Is it just me or is the U8N have a Much faster response time? It seemed to me the B7 had a delay everytime the image switched. Also, would be great if included things like motion, upscaling etc or cable/satellite feeds. Please please when discussing buying opinions, it would be great if you included other features like sound options, DTSx, Sony picture core, other features than just pic quality would be awesome to have a better understanding of all the tv offers. For example, does either tv have QMS, or even multi view, etc? Thanks for great video’ can’t wait for CES COVERAGE!! 🎉

Never figured I'd ever buy a 75 in TV. Just watched John Wick 4 on Prime, in Prime Mode, on a 75B7 from Costco for US$1800. 87 days left to figure if I want to do a return. I'll enjoy it until CES 2025 and maybe send it back after.

A while ago I was in a tv store and I was browsing through the different brands of tv. I saw the Sony tvs and noticed the picture to be very natural looking with the skin tones looking as they should be, from Bravia 3, all the way up to the Bravia 8 and 9, be it oled or led. Then I came to the Hisense tvs and immediately noticed the colours to be very saturated and unnatural looking, the picture just don’t appeal to me. It’s as if they cranked up and sugar coat some aspects of the picture to immediately appeal and catch one’s attention. Naturally I got the Bravia 7. This is just my opinion, I am sure it differs from many others. 🙏

WOLED has a nasty bluish green tint that cannot be calibrated out and this is caused by the white sub pixel. This tint permeates every single color and if you really want to see it, skip to 13:04 mark in this video. It's very easy to see when compared directly against a panel that uses true RGB pixel structure. This tint is particularly easy to spot when the display is displaying the color white. Once you notice it, you will see it in all colors. WOLED already has very poor color gamut coverage in general and this is just another ugly aspect to add to that. I'm surprised more people don't talk about this..... I don't think I've ever heard one professional reviewer mention it, ever.

Do the bargain brands like hisense and TCL actually last? What’s the catch with them? Better picture at half the price…there has to be a catch. Someone please educate me on them

Yes they last. They can be a little buggy but I have had three of them. One for almost 8 years. Stellar performance. I have the QM850g and the black levels are amazing. No blooming to cause distractions. Constant software updates quality has improved since I first owned it.
@paulcox2447
@paulcox2447 12 сағат бұрын
The catch is they are made in china which means they can be made for a lot less money than TV's made in Korea or Japan. Plus TCL and Hisense are trying to break into the american market since we buy lots of TV's which means they have to have competitive pricing to get people to get them. TCL literally makes every part for their TV's in house, so that really helps them in price vs quality since they don't have to outsource parts and pay markup from other companies on them. If they were the same price as the larger brand names they wouldn't have any sales due to name value.
