@@VintageElectronicsGeek I dove deep into these older digital cameras over the past few months and it's been a lot of fun. I started with the Sony DSC-F707 because that was my first digital camera that I always regretted selling when I went into Nikon APS-C DSLRs. When I saw how inexpensive these old cameras are I started picking up some models I'd wanted but never gotten: Sony DSC-F828 & R1 and Nikon 8700 & D200. Then I found some other interesting models to snag: Nikon 990 & 995, Canon Powershot Pro 1, and finally this Sony D770. Many of them have really surprised me with their image quality, especially the Sony F828. It has become one of my favorites to shoot now and it's easy to get into infrared photography with it due to a hack of the Night Shot feature. If you like 5MP and under cameras, check out a Sony F707 if you haven't. It's still a very capable camera and has the fun infrared/night vision capability.

Nice work replacing the battery. Why the heck didn’t they put a battery door on that thing? I guess it gave the service center a easy money maker. Nice work 👍👏🏻📷

Its not Canon! :) I have always wonder why all camera mfg. didn't make that part a user consumable and not have to send it in...but I'm sure its more then an inconvenience, its a feature...most end users will think camera is broken and go buy a new one....plan working as designed! Hey Jack. If only my Samsung WB-250F were that easy to fix. LOL I did watch a take apart on it and it does look doable. Just not sure I'm that brave though. :)

Later ones used a BR2032 or similar rechargeable coin cell, so you have no issues with this any more.

@@VintageElectronicsGeek Not the same one, but similar Sony with that cursed Infolithium cells with a 2 minute life. But at least the battery life was good for 2 shots after a while, which was fine with the MS card only having enough space for a few shots, with the one that came standard. 8M stick, but got bigger ones later on used, plus also have the purple Sony MS card reader mouse for them.

@@VintageElectronicsGeek Not sure, would have to dig it out. But just that most of my cameras were only new to me, often gotten for bargain basement prices or free so yes old. Phone camera is the one I use the most now.

A 1k$ old canera that might get 20$, lol. Was this more than ten years old? No SD RAM - less than 1gb, non changeable lens, slow focus? But back then, it was the cat's meow! Sillyfones put it to shame on an Apple iPhone 13. What kind of lens is in a sillyfone? We are glass geeks, lol.

1.5 megapickles, lol! Why not make it real easy to replace mem bat like this - on most stuff? I have a few cheapo watches that need teeny batteries. Today I need to replace a NICAD mem battery on a thirty year old Packard Bell 486 DOS 6.2/Win 3.1 PC, that was soldered on the PCB. FYI, it has a 3.5" disk drive. I eil recruit my grandson to do the soldering.

My thought as well, should be very simple, even on todays modern cameras, its still not an easy consumer task...Canon however has made it easy on some models. Hope he helps you out my friend. ~Jack, VEG
