Not a bad idea there. I can get a 4 pin XLR and put powerpoles on the other end.

I have purchased used batteries and had good luck. Sometimes you can get a bad one but they can be re-celled with new batteries. I've got a BVP-950 docked to a BVV-5 VTR back, a BVP-E10 docked to a PVV-3 VTR back, and I recently bought a BVP-E30WS with a CA-570 camera adapter back, a CCU-700 camera control unit (suppsedly with SDI out) and some viewfinders. I also bought a Bluefish444 Epoch Horizon 3G-SDI PCI-E card for capturing the uncompressed video output. I have many other accessories but I am still not anywher at the point yet where I can playback my videos in color or outside of a VF in monochrome. I would love to see you upload some videos with this camera, though. Thanks for showing.

you have an Anton Bauer battery receptacle, you can remove it and replace it with an NP1-A type battery box and batteries are much cheaper ( see ebay ) or you can get an Anton Bauer to NP1 adapter that slides right into your current mount and it lets you use NP1 type batteries. Get a dual NP1 battery box ( Sony DC-520) set-up for 2X the time. I use them all the time, batteries and charges are readily available. Look up IDX NP type lithium batteries. Get the 14.8 VDC NP lithium batteries or you can go Nicad batteries ( still use a DC-520 dual battery set-up or a single or dual battery box on the back ) a nicad charger and batts. are very inexpensive.

Yeah no I looked into doing just that but it would've cost more, especially for the charger. Was much cheaper to just buy an off brand AB mount lithium battery with a D-tap and a cheap D-tap supply to charge it. Works fine.

Steve Baker Will generic lithium NP-1 batteries work in my IDX KL-4 NP-1 battery charger? I only have one used IDX NP-1 68 Wh lithium battery I spent like $90 on and they are $250 new.

These are excellent 3ccd 2/3" cameras. Still viable today, Frame for 16x9 and upscale after editing. Try it. Better than most 3 chip prosumer camcorders in my humble opinion. A good way to go with these high end SD cams today is to get a breakout box to firewire, then you can record on an old MacBook Pro and have instant access to the recordings directly into FCP (I'm old, I hate FCP X, FCP 6HD does it all, a little slow on renders but a reasonable, and inexpensive way to go.) The best thing is you can find old Sony BVP7 et. with 2x extender lens on shop goodwill! super cheap with real glass lens! anyway happy hunting, now go and play with them! Much. Damon

That's too much of a pain in the ass and I don't have the space anymore. For this model I would need an SDI capture and those are expensive and I don't really wanna put any more money into this anymore even though do I do love it. I can't remember if this recorder unit has a 16:9 crop or not but I prefer sticking to 4:3 and standard definition. What I really need is desk space so I can get a couple dedicated Betacam SP tape decks and CRT displays, as well as a little miniDV and Hi8 combo on the side.

Thanks. I was looking around the other week and found a new third party Lithium one that can charge with a cheaper d-tap supply and decent cheap d-tap supply. Still will be a few months tough til I have the spare change.
