I bought the 40mm as soon as it came out for exactly the same reasons in this brilliant video.

Can I use a filter then over it a hook and lastly the rear len cap? I mean, firstly I want to put a filter over the original len and then over the filter would be a hook and finally to cover the filter/original len a cap? Thanks 😊

no, the hood they ship with it connects with a bayonet mount, not a traditional screw thread. sorry!

I’m going to have to break down and try this one. My favorite street photography focal length is 28mm but this one is just too light to pass up.

it really is tiny and weighs nothing--how they crammed two linear AF motors in there... I'll never know!

Where did you explain how to use the zoom setting? I have an a1 and 2 of the 3 new tiny lenses, but all I get is that it's an invalid setting for the lens. What am I doing wrong?
@PMRTV3 жыл бұрын
You have to set the camera up using the menu system to make the "focus hold" button do the punch in to APS-C instead. :)

At time 2.0, you said that, in crop mode, it becomes 60mm f2.5. Do you really mean that? Or the F should become also, by cropfactor, to f3.75 (2.5 x 1.5). Thank you.

I have one prime lens, the 135mm GM, and 4 zooms. (16mm to 600mm covered) I’m wondering which one would be the best companion 24mm or the 40mm, for walking around, I also only have one camera A9M2.

I haven't used this 40mm but I own the 24mm GM and it's great for photos and videos! Imho it has the character (color rendition and micro contrast) that Sony's GM lenses possess and others don't!

That sounds like a pretty interesting lens.

I wish that Sony will also make compact prime GM quality Lenses that do not need so much help from software.
@PMRTV3 жыл бұрын
I think you mean firmware, and it only helps. Other brands put out lenses that cannot be improved upon once you buy them. I love the fact that all the Sony glass can be upgraded into the future!

@@PMRTV Software/Firmware :) What I mean is that a Lens should be made as good as it can optically without being dependent on software/Firmware, as I see it Sony made the 3 compact G Lenses rom start to be dependent of Software/Firmware to deliver decent image quality, that I do not like. I have the Sony 24mm 1.4 and 135mm 1.8 GM Lenses, fortunately those 2 GM Lenses are not very dependent on Software/Firmware to deliver good image quality, most the 24mm for vignetting.

„This lense weights 6 unzes. I am gonna let it sink in for a minute.“ You can let it sink in for hours on end. I don’t know how much an unze is :D

that would be 170 grams :)

They still need a fisheye

that is true!

I agree. I’m still using my old A Mount 16mm fisheye. However, the TTartisan 11mm f/2.8 fisheye looks like a blast. I just have to suck in my gut and keep my feet out of shot with that wide a lens.
